THE HOPE 2024

This footage captures THE HOPE 2023, a major hip-hop festival held on a special stage set up in Odaiba on September 23, 2023.

It’s a nearly eight-hour-long feature where you can enjoy electrifying live performances from rising stars to seasoned veterans.

Packed with many popular artists who are leading today’s hip-hop scene, this video is recommended not only for dedicated hip-hop fans but also for listeners who are just starting to get into hip-hop!

TSUYOSHI NAGABUCHI on ABEMA

Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi, a living legend who continues to etch his name into the history of Japanese music, has launched a must-see project for fans in collaboration with ABEMA—despite his image as a solitary artist.

As of 2024, two releases are available: a four-episode talk and music program that premiered in 2023, and footage from live performances in his hometown of Kagoshima.

The highlight is the graduation ceremony concert at Kagoshima Minami High School, Nagabuchi’s alma mater.

On February 28, 2023, he attended the school’s graduation ceremony and performed fan favorites as well as “Sotsugyo” (“Graduation”), a song he created in 2009 with students from the same school.

Don’t miss Nagabuchi’s expressions unique to a hometown performance—and the students’ smiling faces.

The Debut: Dream Academy

The global girls’ audition reality show The Debut: Dream Academy, produced by HYBE, home to BTS and NewJeans, featured the trainees—known as “DoriAka”—in an exclusive stream on ABEMA.

The audition has already concluded, and the six finalists, a truly global and multinational lineup, debuted in 2024 as the group KATSEYE.

If you only learned about KATSEYE after their debut rather than during the audition, this show is highly recommended as a valuable look at their trainee days filled with sweat and tears.

WATWING

Formed in 2019, WATWING debuted as Horipro’s first male dance and vocal group.

Their debut album “Where,” released in 2023, topped the Oricon charts, cementing their popularity.

Now, a must-see special program for their fans is streaming as an ABEMA Original.

It features irresistible content for fans, including interviews with the members about their upcoming live performance, recorded just before their solo show at Pacifico Yokohama in August 2023.

Welcome back, Music Room

It’s a music documentary series where artists who are currently active visit their alma mater.

They reconnect with mentors and old friends, look back on the past, and trace how they’ve walked the path to becoming musicians.

At the end of each episode, they perform a live set in the school’s music room, making for a deeply moving concept that really hits home.

This show offers a glimpse into the roots of popular artists, and I’d recommend it not only to music lovers but also to anyone who chased a dream back in their school days.

Freestyle Dungeon

Freestyle Dungeon is a rap battle–themed show where challengers take on elite rappers known as “monsters.” The program, which aired on TV Asahi for five years starting in 2015, is now available to watch in full on ABEMA.

It became a gateway for listeners who hadn’t previously listened to hip-hop to enter the hip-hop scene.

You can rewatch the matches known as the best bouts, or go through all the historic battles from the beginning—enjoy it however you like.

Music Bank

Music Bank is a popular music program that has been broadcast on a Korean TV network since 1998.

On ABEMA, it’s available with Japanese subtitles, so you can easily catch up on the latest K-pop trends straight from the source.

The nonstop performances by various artists are guaranteed to thrill K-pop fans.

It’s a perfect video content recommendation for anyone who wants to learn about the latest K-pop scene, newcomers to K-pop, and anyone who loves Korean music.
