Make it with origami! Pinecone wreath

It’s an idea for a wreath made not with real pinecones, but with pinecones crafted from origami.

First, crumple the origami paper once to add wrinkles and texture.

Then cut it in half, glue the pieces so they form a wide rectangle, and fold it in half so the top and bottom edges overlap.

Make fine slits along the looped edge, then roll it up tightly to complete the pinecone.

Make the leaves and red berries from origami as well.

Finally, attach the leaves to a wreath base made from thick cardstock, and decorate it with the pinecones and red berries to finish.

Here are some stylish advent calendar ideas you can make using patterned paper and black construction paper.

Fold the patterned paper into a small bag, add the contents, then close it by forming a 3D triangle.

Cut the black construction paper into tag shapes, stamp the dates with gold ink, then punch holes in both the triangular patterned paper and the tags and thread them together with string.

You can display the finished pieces in a basket, or hang them as ornaments on your Christmas tree—they’ll look adorable either way.

Semi-transparent and metallic patterned papers are especially recommended!

Let’s make a hanging type of tree that’s easy to put up and simple to decorate.

Prepare a large circular piece of cardboard and draw four circles inside it at equal intervals.

Use a craft knife to cut out the circles, and you’ll have five ring-shaped pieces.

Connect them with string in order from the smallest circle to the largest to form a tree shape.

Stick cute tape along the cardboard edges and decorate each ring with green pipe cleaners and ornaments.

Finally, add a star at the top, and it’s complete.

Here’s a natural ornament you can make with small twigs.

First, cut the jute base into a triangle and attach a string to the back.

Then stick a square piece of birch bark underneath.

Glue twigs cut to suitable lengths from the bottom of the base upward to create the shape of a tree.

Attach a topper ornament, decorate the twigs with red berries, and you’re done.

Using twigs in different colors looks cute.

You can buy ready-made twigs, or intentionally use mismatched ones you pick up on a walk.

candle ornament

Let’s handcraft authentic candle ornaments using natural materials.

First, melt beeswax in a double boiler and add a few drops of essential oil.

Cut off just the bottom of a paper cup, then quickly pour in the wax before it hardens.

Be careful not to make too many at once, as the wax will solidify.

Arrange dried fruits or leaves on the poured wax, and use a straw to make a hole for the string.

Once fully hardened, remove the paper cup, thread the string through, and it’s done.
