Craft ideas with construction paper that adults can enjoy: from small accessories to stylish home decor (1–10)
Lucky Star

Let’s make “lucky stars,” which you can easily produce in large numbers.
First, take a strip of construction paper and tie a simple overhand knot near one end.
Gently flatten the knotted part into a pentagon, then wrap the remaining strip around the pentagon, following its shape.
Once you’ve wrapped it all, secure the end with glue.
Next, pinch and push in the sides between the corners to puff it up.
It’s very simple, and you’ll have a three-dimensional star! Make them in various colors and fill a jar—they’ll look almost like candy and make a charming decoration.
cactus

Cacti are popular as interior decor, too.
How about making one out of construction paper? Prepare sheets measuring 4×5 cm and 1.5×2 cm, fold each in half, and cut to create petal-like pieces.
You’ll need around 10 pieces of each size.
Fold each piece in half, then glue them together in a ring to form a 3D shape.
Use the larger pieces for the main cactus and the smaller pieces for a mini cactus.
Once the main body is done, attach the mini cactus, and finish by adding a pink flower.
paper flower

Let’s make a paper flower using three sizes of petals.
Prepare three types of construction paper: 3×5 cm, 2.5×4 cm, and 2×3 cm.
Fold each piece in half, draw a petal outline, and cut it out.
Make eight petals of each size.
Snip a small cut at the base of each petal, overlap the cut edges, and glue them to give the petals a three-dimensional shape.
Attach the petals to a circular base, then roll a strip of construction paper with fringe cuts to create the flower’s center and glue it in the middle to finish.
If you curl the petal tips around a pen or similar tool, they’ll look even more petal-like.
Colorful ball

Perfect for your room’s interior! Here’s an idea for colorful paper balls.
First, cut all the construction paper into circles.
You’ll need 24 circular pieces to make one ball.
Cut 12 of them in half, and fold the remaining 12 in half.
Lightly fold the half-circle pieces in half, apply glue to both ends, and attach the straight edge along the crease of a folded circle.
Glue two of these so that the ring-shaped parts face each other in the center.
Make 12 of these components, then glue them together to form a ball, and you’re done.
Try using colored construction paper to make it bright and colorful.
Heart-shaped bag

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a simple and cute way to wrap small gifts like sweets? In times like that, this heart-shaped bag is highly recommended! Prepare two pieces of construction paper in different colors, each 7.5 cm by 25 cm.
Fold them in half, then cut 1.5 cm-wide slits along the folded edge (the side that forms a loop).
Round off the opposite ends.
Weave the cut sections together to form a lattice pattern, attach handles, and you’re done.
You can change the size of the bag by changing the size of the paper, so try making it in your preferred dimensions!
butterfly

Why not try making a three-dimensional butterfly that can also be used as a small accent for wall decorations or cards? Draw the wings by connecting two vertical ovals—one large and one small—and then draw another pair of ovals inside them.
Trace the lines of the inner ovals to make creases, then draw a line down the center of the two ovals and trace that as well to create a crease.
Fold along the center line as a valley fold and along the edges of the inner ovals as mountain folds, then press the middle to shape it into a butterfly.
Finally, add the antennae, and you’re done!
basket

Here’s an idea for making a basket using strips of construction paper.
First, make a ring with one strip, then attach two more strips in a cross shape inside the ring.
Next, glue two additional strips to fill the spaces between them.
This forms the base framework of the basket.
Weave more strips of construction paper through the framework to build the sides of the basket.
Attach a handle at the end to finish.
You can use construction paper in different colors to make a colorful basket.
The finished basket can be used as a small organizer or for giving mini gifts.
It’s easy to make, so give it a try!
pen holder
@maho.mama♬ Katakoto – sloppy dim
Let’s make a simple yet stylish pen holder! First, take a square sheet of colored paper, fold it in half twice to make creases, then open it.
Fold the top two corners toward the center, and fold the bottom edge up to the horizontal center line.
Fold the left and right sides in to meet the vertical center line, then overlap the folded sections and glue them to form a triangular prism—this completes one unit.
Make six of these units.
After gluing them all together, attach a piece of thick paper to the bottom, decorate as you like, and you’re done! It’s not very durable, but it’s great when you want a pen holder you can make quickly.

Same Thing (feat. Superorganism) – Gen Hoshino
Perfect for your room’s interior! Let’s make a planet mobile.
It’s very easy: just cut colored paper into circles, fold each in half, and glue the halves together.
Glue enough pieces to form a ball.
Prepare a few colors to make it nice and colorful.
If you cut out the inside of a circular piece and attach it around the ball, it will look like Saturn.
Thread a string through the center to connect them, and your planet mobile is complete! Try hanging it from the ceiling as a decoration.

Prepare three sheets of construction paper measuring 90 cm by 90 cm.
Fold each sheet twice into a square and once into a triangle to make crease lines.
Overlap and glue the bottom right corner to the top left corner to connect the three sheets, then attach photos in the four central spots.
After that, fold it up, add a cover, and wrap it with a ribbon—that’s it! If you use colored paper and decorate the empty spaces with stickers or stamps, it will turn into an even more wonderful gift.
