“Paper Airplane” is a digital single by Sano ibuki, a singer-songwriter from Gifu Prefecture, released in 2020.
It was written as the theme song for the film “Runway,” which is inspired by poet Shinichiro Hagihara’s poetry collection of the same name.
The lyrics, about sending a paper airplane infused with one’s feelings as far as it will go, really resonate when you listen.
Sano ibuki’s lustrous vocals and the piano accompaniment also enhance the song’s atmosphere.
The music video features Uta Yorikawa and Kei Kinoshita, members of the film’s cast, so be sure to check it out!
Flight awayDa-iCE

In keeping with the one-song-per-member production concept of the album “FACE,” this track was written and composed by the leader, Taiki Kudo.
It’s pop and easy to listen to, yet incredibly stylish.
The wing-like choreography is striking, and together with the refreshing melody, it really lifts your mood! It brings to mind all the emotions you feel when a plane takes off, as well as the excitement of seeing scenery you’ve never encountered before.
It also seems to carry the desire to take off together with the fans.
The Australian landscapes in the music video—made with support from JAL—are beautiful and make you want to set off on a trip right away!

Among the many idol groups, Nogizaka46 is one of the most popular, vying for first or second place.
They’ve produced numerous hit songs, but “Runway” is a bit different.
In fact, this track doesn’t feature core members like Mai Shiraishi or Asuka Saito.
It’s performed by ten Under Members, so you can enjoy a different side of Nogizaka46.

DXTEEN is a six-member boy group under LAPONE Entertainment, a joint venture between Yoshimoto Kogyo and CJ ENM.
Their second single, “first flight,” which was selected as the ending theme for the variety show Downtown DX, leaves a lasting impression with the contrast between its light, breezy beat and its translucent ensemble.
The lyrics, depicting an unstoppable passion for dreams, conjure the image of an airplane soaring ever higher.
It’s a powerful yet delicate dance tune, marked by a memorable chorus in the hook that gives you a gentle push forward.
Night FlightEXILE ATSUSHI

Singer EXILE ATSUSHI, who also shines as a frontman for EXILE with his cool looks and sweet vocals.
His digital single “Night Flight,” selected as the image song for Tokyo Calendar × Mt.

It’s a heartfelt number whose gentle melody wraps warmly around your heart.
airplaneKOHH

KOHH, a heavyweight in Japan’s hip-hop scene.
He grew up in a harsh environment with both parents addicted to drugs—a bona fide ghetto upbringing.
When you think of KOHH, his flow inspired by the US scene really stands out.
His track “Hikoki” (Airplane) features a sound that perfectly matches that image.
Among KOHH’s songs, this one is crafted to be especially fresh and breezy.
It even gives me a bit of a D.O.-style rap vibe.
It’s an interesting track—definitely check it out!
