Samba do Avião (Jet Plane Samba) was written and composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim, a leading bossa nova artist and an aviation enthusiast, as a commercial song for Varig Brazilian Airlines.

Created in 1963, its lyrics praise the beauty of Rio as seen from an airplane, greatly contributing to promoting Rio de Janeiro as a tourist destination.

This song, which was used in Honda’s “Go, Vantage Point.” commercial.

The chorus has an incredible sense of openness that wraps you in a refreshing feeling! Some people might not like it, but why is the moment of takeoff on a plane so exciting? It seems like even your first trip could begin with a thrilling sense of anticipation!
