Animal-themed magic. Cute tricks that children will love.

Have you ever thought, “I want to perform magic and entertain children!!”? Performing magic will likely make them happy, but little kids often aren’t very interested in coin tricks or card tricks.

That’s why I recommend animal-themed magic.

Animals are familiar to young children, and they’ll enjoy it without getting bored.

In this article, I’ll introduce magic tricks that use cute animal illustrations and plush toys! Let’s dive right in!

Animal Hexagon

Animal Hexagon is also highly recommended—it’s sure to excite the kids.

This is a magic prop that adds a creative twist to a classic trick.

It starts as a hexagon colored like a desert, but when you fold and unfold it, it transforms into an illustration of a camel.

Fold and open it again, and this time it turns ocean blue; open it once more, and a sea turtle appears.

With each reveal, children will be eagerly wondering, “What will appear next?”

Appearance of the (rubber) pigeon

[Revealed] The royal road of magic! Introducing two simple tricks, including the classic dove production
Appearance of the (rubber) pigeon

Having a dove appear is a classic magic effect, isn’t it? How about giving it a try? You can start easily by using a rubber dove—often called a “gomu-bato”—instead of a real one.

The method is quite simple, too.

First, fold the rubber dove and conceal it in your hand.

Then, when you open your hand, the folded rubber dove naturally returns to its original shape.

People will enjoy it, especially if you reveal the secret afterward.

By the way, there are many other rubber props available besides doves.

A Mentalist’s Animal Encyclopedia

A Mentalist’s Animal Encyclopedia

The Mentalist’s Animal Encyclopedia is also a highly recommended magic prop.

At first glance, it looks like an ordinary animal reference book.

Inside, there are 38 different animals, printed three per page.

First, hand the book to your spectator and have them open to any page they like.

Next, say you’re going to divine which page they’re on, performing as if you’re receiving telepathic signals.

Finally, write down all three animals on the page they’re looking at, and reveal them.

They’ll be left wondering how on earth you knew.

Animal Guessing Sheet

Would you like to show off the Animal Guessing Sheet? This is a magic trick set that comes with cards featuring animal illustrations.

First, show the first card with animals on it and ask the spectator to choose just one animal they like.

At that time, have them decide only in their mind without saying it out loud.

Next, show the second card and ask whether the chosen animal appears on the front or the back.

Then continue the same process with the third and fourth cards.

By the end, you’ll be able to tell exactly which animal they chose.

The Fun Animal Kingdom

From the Magic Goods “Art Extra-Large Card Series,” let’s introduce a delightful animal kingdom.

First, set the envelope with a forest illustration and the envelope with a house illustration on the left and right stands.

Then take out several animal cards and begin telling the story.

If you add interactive elements—like everyone imitating animal sounds—the excitement will grow even more.

As the story progresses, place one of the animal cards into the envelope with the house illustration.

But mysteriously, the same card reappears from the forest envelope.

Guess the animal using addition

[Magic Lecture Series] Animal Magic (Guess the Animal)
Guess the animal using addition

I’ll introduce an animal-guessing magic trick that only requires simple addition.

All you need is a single sheet with animal illustrations.

First, have someone choose one animal they like.

Next, fold the sheet and ask whether they can still see the chosen animal.

Repeat this four times, and you’ll be able to identify which animal they picked.

The secret is that each time the answer is YES, you add the number of legs of the animal located in the top-left corner.

The total gives you a number that indicates the chosen animal.

There are 14 different animals in total, so the person being guessed will be astonished!

A plush toy of the selected animal appears.

A magic trick with a punchy twist: a stuffed animal that’s been “chosen” appears.

You prepare playing cards numbered 8 to 13 and an illustration of a Ferris wheel with animals.

Children draw a card, and you use the number to select animals on the Ferris wheel.

Then you flip the board to reveal a parachute illustration, and the chosen animal’s plush appears from below.

The secret is that, no matter which number is selected, you change the counting method so the same animal is always chosen.

In conclusion

We’ve introduced a whole range of animal-themed magic tricks.

Since many of them are cute tricks featuring animals, they might delight young children if you perform them for them.

Some of the tricks do require purchasing magic props, but if there’s something that catches your eye, why not consider buying at least one to start?
