Handmade (1–10)
A cut-out, step-by-step theater

This is an idea for a step-by-step theater where the process of revealing the answer is fun.
What you need is a cage containing an animal.
First, paste an illustration of an animal onto a foam board.
Next, overlay the illustration with a cage frame and iron bars made from construction paper, and glue them on.
This makes it look as if the animal is trapped in a cage.
When it’s time to answer, cut the iron bars one by one with scissors, gradually revealing the full image of the animal.
Adding sound effects as you cut will make it even more exciting.
Creatures Related to Water (1–10)
Sea creatures

The sea creatures silhouette quiz is a fun item that everyone can enjoy together.
From fish and shells to dolphins and octopuses, there’s a wide range from familiar to rare, so both kids and adults will be captivated.
If you use silhouettes made from origami, you can learn while having fun with your child—two benefits in one.
Prepare different difficulty levels, and it’s sure to get everyone excited! Why not take on the challenge with family or friends and spend some time discovering the wonders of the ocean?
Creatures that live by the waterside

When you hear “creatures that live by the water,” what comes to mind? Fish might be the first thing you think of.
But in fact, many more kinds of creatures live near the water.
For example, insects like water striders and diving beetles, crustaceans such as crayfish and shrimp, amphibians like frogs, and even dragonflies that fly over the water can all be considered waterside creatures.
Trying a silhouette quiz of these animals could be a great way to start learning about waterside ecosystems.
Birds (1–10)
bird

It’s also fun to try a bird silhouette quiz.
Even when we simply say “birds,” there’s a huge variety—ranging from familiar ones like ducks and pigeons to species most people don’t know well.
It’s also interesting that some birds, like geese, have silhouettes that closely resemble other birds.
The difficulty is just right, so it’s perfect for lively head-to-head matches.
And if you want to raise the difficulty, you can even do a silhouette quiz using bird footprints.
Bug (1–10)
Insect (extremely hard)
Even among simple quizzes where you guess the insect from its silhouette, this format still tests whether you actually know the different kinds.
Some insects have distinctive patterns that don’t show in silhouette, so it’s important to pick up on other features.
In some cases, the clue “an insect with hard wings, six legs, and antennae” is so broad that too many answers fit, so provide hints to gradually narrow it down.
Including obscure insects that people may have seen but don’t know the names of can also make it more engaging and deepen everyone’s knowledge.
Guess the bug’s color

When you hear “silhouette quiz,” it’s usually about guessing the answer from the shape, right? But sometimes you might want to try a quiz with a different twist.
That’s where the Insect Color Guessing Quiz comes in.
In this one, you hear the insect’s name and see its silhouette, and your task is to guess its color.
It features a wide variety, from insects like grasshoppers and bees that anyone can instantly picture, to ones like diving beetles that might leave you scratching your head.
You might even discover, “I didn’t know an insect like that existed!”
In conclusion
We’ve introduced a variety of patterns—did you find one you like? Through my research, I learned that there are many types of silhouette quizzes! Handmade versions seem like something kids would love, and video-based ones are easy to enjoy on the go. Be sure to choose different types depending on the situation!
