Prince of the enka world, Kiyoshi Hikawa! Born in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, he debuted in 2000 with “Hakoone Hachiri no Hanjirō.” He swept numerous awards, including the Japan Record Award and the Japan Cable Radio Award, and brought a fresh wind that greatly changed the enka scene.
He’s also famous for the crowd shout of “Kiyoshi!” as a call-and-response in “Kiyoshi no Zundoko-bushi.” In addition, he sometimes performs pop music under the name “KIYOSHI.”
