Twisty ponytail

A twisty ponytail that’s a slightly more elaborate take on the bubble pony.

For a bubble pony, you tie the hair at equal intervals with small elastics and pull out the sections to create rounded “bubbles.” For this twisty pony, you twist the hair in several segments, make a rope braid, then secure each section with a small elastic.

Wrap a small strand of hair around each elastic to hide it, and repeat.

The twisting adds movement and gives it a relaxed vibe.

It’s simple yet looks polished and gives the impression of a more intricate style, which is a nice bonus.

String-arranged hairstyle

It’s an idea for styling your hair using a leather cord.

Have you ever seen it around town and thought it looked stylish? It can seem really difficult, right? But surprisingly, it’s actually very easy and gives you a relaxed, fashionable vibe.

From a ponytail, tie it again with a small silicone band a few centimeters down to make a bubble (onion) section, then wrap the leather cord over it; or make a three-strand braid, wrap the leather cord over the braid, and gently pull out small sections of hair between the leather to add texture.

Adjust the length of the leather cord to suit your hair length.

Stand out from the other girls at sports day with a grown-up looking side braided-down hairstyle! First, divide your hair into three sections.

Tie only the middle section with a hair elastic, then tie your favorite ribbon above the elastic.

Use the ribbon and the three sections to create a three-strand braid.

The key is to braid it a little loosely.

After finishing the braid, gently pull apart the stitches to create a soft, airy look.

Finally, wrap the ends of the ribbon around to hide the hair elastic you used when making the braid, and you’re done! You can also swap the ribbon for a scarf or the headband you’ll use for sports day.

How about trying the classic girly hairstyle, the half-twin, for your sports day or athletic festival? All you do is take a little hair from both sides and tie it, so it works with any length—from short bobs to medium and long—and anyone can easily look cute.

Bringing the side sections up to the top helps slim the face line and won’t get in the way when you’re playing sports.

If you curl the wispy strands and the remaining hair with a curling iron, you can create an even softer look.

Wearing a headband (hachimaki) will also help keep the style in place, so give it a try!

Braided side ponytail

If a regular side ponytail doesn’t feel glamorous enough, try a braided side ponytail! It’s an easy hairstyle—just braid along one side and secure it with an elastic—but it looks very stylish.

Instead of braiding tightly, gently loosen the braid bit by bit at the end while neatening the sections to create a chic, grown-up cute look.

If doing your own hair is tricky, try styling each other’s hair with friends—it can deepen your friendship and make your sports day even more memorable.

A bun hairstyle you can do even with a short bob

A bun hairstyle you can do even with a short bob

This is a hairstyle I especially recommend for people with short bobs who have given up on doing a bun.

Part your hair down the middle into two sections and tie each with a thin elastic.

Tie another elastic below each one to create what’s commonly called a “bubble (onion) hairstyle.” The key here is to make the upper section longer and the lower section shorter.

Next, create a gap between the two elastics and do a topsy tail from the front, tucking the hair inside.

Finally, fold the lower hair that’s tucked inside upward and secure from above with a thick elastic—that’s one side done! Repeat the same steps on the other side, and finish by pinning any hair sticking out at the back.

If you gather your hair and add a headband or sweatband, it’ll feel neat, boost your motivation, and help you fully enjoy a sports day or athletic festival.

four-strand braid

[How to Braid Four-Strand] For Valentine’s Day ♥ Easy and Cute Hair Arrangement You Can Make with a Simple Three-Strand Braid! You Can Also Do a Ribbon Four-Strand Braid♪
four-strand braid

For those with long hair who find it hard to keep braids balanced on both sides, how about trying a four-strand braid that combines regular (over) and reverse (under) three-strand braiding? It may seem complicated at first, but simply put: divide the hair into four sections; use the left three strands to do an over-braid, then on the next pass use the right three strands to do an under-braid, and keep alternating.

If you want to weave in a ribbon, divide the hair into three sections, add the ribbon as the fourth, and make a four-strand braid.

Tying the ribbon into a bow at the top before braiding makes it really cute.

In conclusion

We introduced some recommended headband hairstyles for sports festivals.

Many of them are styles you can use in everyday life, too.

To keep your hair from falling apart during the event, finish it firmly with hair wax or spray.

Matching twin hairstyles with your friends is super cute as well!
