Many people like singing and karaoke.

For those people in particular, here’s a recommended karaoke fill-in-the-blanks challenge.

You’re shown lyrics with only parts written out in front of you, and you sing along using them as hints.

It’s important to imagine the song’s world and what the full lyrics might be, so your creativity and memory are put to the test.

Reaching the correct answer matters, of course, but this quiz really highlights the act of instantly retrieving memories in sync with the music.

Pseudo stained glass

Angel Land Fukui: Let's Make a Faux Stained Glass
Pseudo stained glass

Let’s make a cool and refreshing faux stained glass.

Real stained glass uses glass, but for our faux version we’ll use aluminum foil and a photo frame.

First, draw your favorite picture in color on the transparent film of the photo frame.

On the backing board side of the frame, spread out a piece of crumpled aluminum foil and attach it.

Place your drawing on the backing, fit everything into the frame, and you’ll have a sparkling, beautiful piece that looks like stained glass! The aluminum foil creates that shimmering stained-glass vibe.

Try drawing a summery picture and give it a go!

Flappy butterfly

Today's activity at Day Service Asumiru!
Flappy butterfly

Did you know that August 8 is Butterfly Day? They say it was chosen because the number 8, when turned sideways, looks like a butterfly.

So let’s make some fluttering butterflies and have fun! We’ll twist lightweight paper, like calligraphy paper, into butterfly shapes.

Then place a ring in the center and flap them with a fan to guide the butterflies into the ring.

The team that gets the most butterflies into the ring within the time limit wins.

Snack Activity: Sky-Blue Jelly

If you’re unsure what to make for an August snack activity, why not try this “Blue Sky Jelly”? It’s easy: just mix, set, and layer in a container! Make the blue jelly with dissolved gelatin, soda, and blue syrup.

For the white jelly, mix gelatin, milk, and undiluted lactic acid drink.

After mixing the ingredients, chill them in the refrigerator.

Once the jellies are set, layer them alternately in a container to create a sky effect.

Finish with vanilla ice cream and a cherry on top if you like.

shaved ice making

Looks just like the real thing!? Perfect for summer! Fluffy shaved ice 🍧☁️ #preschoolcrafts #nurseryteacher #teachingideas #traineenurseryteacher #teacherlife #cotton #paint #easycraft #shavedice #summer
shaved ice making

Here’s a very simple craft idea for shaved ice.

Prepare a paper cup, cotton, paint, and crayons.

First, use a crayon to write the character for “ice” (氷) and draw wave patterns on the paper cup.

Stuff the cup with cotton, then add color with paint to represent syrup—that’s it! By changing the paint colors, you can make shaved ice with different syrups.

If you make a few and display them along a wall, they’ll make lovely decorations for a festival event.

Give it a try!
