Bad HabitsEd Sheeran

When it comes to Ed Sheeran, many people probably picture an acoustic sound.
In reality, that’s not necessarily the case—his music generally incorporates trending genres, and he doesn’t stick to a single, consistent style.
His new song, Bad Habits, is a great example.
It features an impressive sound that draws on the currently popular 1980s synth-pop, and while the low end isn’t overly heavy, the overall arrangement is quite groovy.
Be sure to give it a listen.
Kaikai KitanEVE

This is the fourth major digital single by singer-songwriter Eve, who made his major debut in 2019 and has been drawing attention for his outstanding vocal ability and songwriting sense.
The track was chosen as the opening theme for the hugely popular TV anime Jujutsu Kaisen, and its lyrics evoke the world of the anime, making it especially popular among fans of the series.
As an anime theme song, it’s easy to focus solely on the melody, but if you listen with the bassline in mind, you’ll notice an even catchier and more intricate melodic feel.
It’s a song you’ll definitely want to experience with deep, heavy bass from a subwoofer.
poofKing Gnu

As expected from a rock band leading the charge in 2020, their lyrics, looks, and melodies are all razor-sharp—but this time, let’s focus on the bass.
If you listen closely to the bass, you can hear how perfectly it blends with the rhythm and vocals.
It anchors the band with hefty low-end power while confidently carrying its own melodies—a bass so bold it’s far beyond a mere behind-the-scenes role, packing an incredible punch.
And of course, when it comes to King Gnu, that low vocal is iconic—the layering of those two voices is an essential weapon in their sound!
Let It GoLOUDNESS

If you love bass in a band sound, definitely check this out! It’s a track by LOUDNESS, the Japanese metal band that gained fans worldwide after breaking into overseas markets in the ’80s.
Released as a single in 1986, it’s included on their sixth album, SHADOWS OF WAR.
The powerful vibe of this song really gets you pumped.
The classic, straight-ahead structure pairs perfectly with Minoru Niihara’s soaring high notes.
Rock kids who want to relive their youth—don’t miss it.
Lightning StormMyproof

Included on the 2012 album “Metal For Silent Fury.” Myproof is a four-piece band from Tokyo formed in 1999.
The fusion of lightning-fast, blast beat-driven guitars with powerful drums and melodious lines is superb, and the shouted vocals that come in fit perfectly and sound awesome.
PLAYBACKROTTENGRAFFTY

The way the song gradually builds up and then bursts open in the intro really fires me up.
It’s a track by the rock band ROTTENGRAFFTY from Kyoto.
It’s included on their sixth album, “PLAY,” released in 2018.
The rap section that comes in after the heavy, weighty interlude is super cool.
It’s a highly addictive killer tune.
sixth senseREOL

Reol is a female singer-songwriter who’s active in a wide range of fields, including composing and artwork.
She originally started out as a singer on Nico Nico Douga and made her debut in 2015.
Like Ado, it seems there are many singers these days who come from the ‘utaite’ scene.
Among her works, the one I recommend for listening with a subwoofer is The Sixth Sense.
While it’s not particularly heavy on low frequencies by today’s standards, its groovy arrangement makes it an excellent match for a subwoofer!
