A collaboration between two artists who excel at loud, heavy styles! Composed by Yuyoyuppe—also known for providing songs to BABYMETAL—and Utsu-P, who is also active as the bassist of the band Ohayougozaimasu, the track was released in 2020.

It’s a fantastical piece where the intense yet beautiful sound feels like waves of audio.

The heavy foundation is insanely cool! You can’t help but ponder the relationship between the two characters that appears in the song—be sure to listen all the way through to this heart-wrenching Vocaloid track.

A song by the Vocaloid producer Wantaro, who debuted in 2013 and has since retired after releasing his 18th track.

It’s his ninth song and his biggest hit, a number where various musical elements blend beautifully: a rockabilly-style shuffle beat featuring brass sounds, a hysteric, guitar-driven rock sound, and organ tones appearing at key moments.

Riding a bouncing beat, Kagamine Len’s rapid-fire, quintessentially VOCALOID vocals stand out even within the complex arrangement—making it easy to see why the track gained such popularity.

Anna Takeuchi is a singer-songwriter from Kyoto, born in 1998.

Having been born in the United States, her English phrasing is smooth.

Her sweet, candy-like voice and lively, pop melodies are delightful.

Anyway, both the visuals and the content are celebratory—it’s the band’s happy birthday song! It’s a bit unusual, a band song that fuses Japanese style with rock.

I get the feeling they’ve borrowed a famous tune… but since it’s fun, let’s just go with it!

Included on the 1989 album “Entertainment of the World.” A four-piece rock band formed in 1986.

It’s an upbeat track with a simple rock beat and a positive, open pop sound, featuring carefree, shouting vocals; the ridiculousness of the lyrics they’re singing leaves a strong impression.

Before You GoKarioka

Carioca was a band that earned high praise for a musical style that, while rooted in fusion, incorporated Latin sounds such as bossa nova and samba—evoking the feeling of a Caribbean sunset.

The group began when members who had served as the backing band for singer-songwriter Kiyoshi Hasegawa debuted in 1977 under the name Samba Carioca.

In 1979, with the release of their second album, Little Train, they changed their name to Carioca.

Despite member departures and rejoinings, they continued to be active—leaving their mark on Japan’s fusion scene—until around 1987, when they effectively went on hiatus.

They also appeared on the fusion compilation album Horizon Dream, which featured notable artists like Masayoshi Takanaka and Jun Fukamachi, so the name may be a nostalgic one for those familiar with that era.
