Twister game

This is a game invented in the United States in which players place their hands and feet, in turn, on colored circles on a mat according to what the roulette indicates, and the last person who doesn’t fall wins.
Because players’ limbs get tangled and they end up in awkward positions during the game, it’s called “Twister,” from the idea of twisting.
It’s especially fun and likely to liven up gatherings of close friends, such as birthday parties.
Although the purpose is a bit different, it’s also one of those games that can spice things up at mixers.
Candy-eating contest

For a birthday party game, it’s nice to have something that feels a bit special—something you don’t usually play.
So how about setting up a “candy grab race,” since kids love sweets? Like a bread-eating race, you hang candy from a high place with strings, and the players try to grab the candy using only their mouths—no hands allowed.
Prepare a variety of treats, from small candies to large bagged snacks, and have everyone compete to see how many they can get within a time limit.
The best part is that everyone gets to enjoy the candy they’ve collected afterward.

Jenga

Jenga is one of the classic party games, and despite its simple rules it gets really exciting, so I highly recommend it.
How to play: take turns removing a rectangular block from the stacked tower and placing it on top.
Since the tower will topple if it loses its balance, the key is how you remove blocks while maintaining that balance.
It’s a game that anyone elementary school age or older can play, and it’s very well-known, so everyone can jump in right away.
And of course, whoever knocks the tower over gets a penalty!
Pose Matching Game

This is a “pose matching game” where you try to strike a pose that fits a given prompt.
For example, if the prompt is “baseball,” you strike a pose that you think represents baseball.
But even within baseball, there are different poses like batter, pitcher, and catcher, right? You choose a pose you think is iconic, and if you and your partner strike the same pose, you get it right and earn points.
You play in pairs, and the team that earns the most points wins.
It’s a game where good teamwork and close bonds really make the difference!
Bingo game

Bingo is a classic game that’s often scheduled as the final program.
It’s easy to understand: you hope the numbers announced at random match those on your bingo card, aiming to complete a line.
The growing excitement as lines start to form bit by bit, and the frustration when a number just won’t come up, are part of the fun.
Typically, when you complete a line, you receive a prize, and choosing what prizes to offer is an important point.
There are various formats, such as announcing the prizes in advance and letting players who complete a line pick what they like, or awarding prizes at random.
Shooting game

The shooting gallery game that’s popular at festival stalls would be a hit at a birthday party too, don’t you think? Line up kids’ favorite snacks and toys, decide how many shots each person gets, and give it a try.
For older kids, use smaller treats with less surface area; for younger ones, make the targets easier to hit and knock over.
Since it’s a birthday party, go all out—create a festive, fair-like atmosphere by preparing plenty of snacks and toys to amp up the excitement!
Rock-Paper-Scissors: Bonk and Cover

“Whack-and-Cap Rock-Paper-Scissors” is a classic game that’s been around for ages, and you often see it on TV variety shows.
Two people sit facing each other with a helmet and a toy hammer placed in the middle.
After playing rock-paper-scissors, the winner tries to hit the loser on the head with the hammer, but the loser is safe if they quickly put on the helmet to defend themselves.
It’s harder than it sounds because you tend to panic.
You can also improvise with things you have on hand, like a rolled-up newspaper and a hat.
