The magic that makes you unable to stand

This trick makes a person unable to stand just by pressing a single finger against their forehead.
It’s so simple that you might think, “Is that for real?” but it is.
As long as you have a chair, anyone can do it easily, so give it a try.
Neck-Twisting Magic

This is a famous signature routine of the magician duo, the Napoleons.
One performer wears a tube with holes on the side, and when the other turns the tube—voilà—the head above the neck appears to spin! If you’re seeing it for the first time, you might go, “Huh?” but the secret is super simple: they’re just moving their head in sync with the movement of the side holes.
Still, making it look natural is surprisingly tricky—anyone who’s tried it will know.
It’s essential to be perfectly in sync with your partner.
The upper body and lower body get cut off.

The upper and lower body move independently of each other… Because it’s filmed in an ordinary room, the contrast between the everyday setting and the look of the magic gives it a surreal feel.
The secret is that the jacket and pants are separated, and the performer is straining to keep their body at an angle out of view in the back.
It’s brute force, which makes it something even beginner magicians can try.
While many magic tricks use small props like playing cards, having at least one flashy trick like this prepared might help you entertain your audience even more.
The necktie pierces through the neck.

This is a very simple magic trick you can do with a necktie or a rope.
Tricks where something seems to pass through your neck always make your heart race, don’t they? With this trick, the way you tie and present the necktie creates the illusion that it’s passing through your neck.
How about using it as a conversation starter?
The middle finger breaks off.

It’s a creepy-looking hand trick where you hold your middle finger, then quickly move your whole hand so the middle finger seems to come off, and by moving it you “grow” a new pinky.
The key is how you angle and present your hand—by adjusting the angles well, you create the appearance of making fingers vanish and reappear.
If someone watches too closely, they’ll notice you’re hiding fingers with angles, so it’s important to finish everything in an instant.
Since angles are crucial, it works best when showing it one-on-one in person or capturing it on video.
A coin pierces through the arm

A coin passes through the arm and palm! It happens in an instant, so it’s hard to process, isn’t it? This uses a basic magic technique called the “palm,” where you secretly conceal something in your hand.
I say “basic,” but if you master it, you can perform consecutive penetration effects like in the video.
In other words, it’s fundamental—and essential.
Practice is everything: at first, use videos as references, and once you get used to it, try it without looking at your hands.
Aim for natural hand movements that make the audience believe it really ‘passed through’!
My ears will get bigger.
A well-known bit from variety shows, this is one of Maggy Shinnji’s signature gags.
Just like the title says, it’s a trick where your ears suddenly get huge.
The method is super simple: you just tightly hold and hide a large dummy ear made of soft material.
You can pretty much always find them at toy stores or places that sell magic props.
It’s a quick, high-impact trick, so it works great as an opener.
Plus, it’s nice that even small children can do it.
