Spacetime Hide-and-SeekBUMP OF CHICKEN

It has a rather puzzling title and tends to be avoided, but it’s a very nuanced song that laments one’s own helplessness at being unable to answer the call of “Ready or not?” within this ‘space-time’ where everything fades with the passage of time.
A collection of popular and classic BUMP OF CHICKEN songs with literary yet everyday, heart-resonating appeal (51–60)
AriaBUMP OF CHICKEN

A refreshing sound perfect for the summer season.
Despite being a rock number, it still feels cool.
As you immerse yourself in the mysterious world of the lyrics and ponder their meaning, you may feel as if you’re solving a riddle.
The title’s “aria”—thinking about what it really is seems to be a key hint.
It’s truly a song where you can experience BUMP’s uniquely poetic world.
Rough MakerBUMP OF CHICKEN

Speaking of BUMP, lyrics with a narrative like this song are truly wonderful, aren’t they? I’m sure many fans are captivated by the lyrical world Motoo Fujiwara creates.
The story depicted in this song is about a “Laugh Maker” who comes to the house to turn a crying person’s tears into smiles.
Listening to how the Laugh Maker tries all sorts of things to make the protagonist—who’s crying so much the house is practically flooding—laugh warms your heart too.
R.I.PBUMP OF CHICKEN

Watching the PV makes me feel like those days in elementary school come flooding back, when everything seemed to shine.
In the past I couldn’t be with you, but now I can be with you and share things with you, and that makes me happy—that’s the kind of feeling this song seems to express.
ArueBUMP OF CHICKEN

This is a song that was once a karaoke standard.
It’s said to be a love song from Motoo Fujiwara to Rei Ayanami, one of the heroines of Neon Genesis Evangelion, so if you’re a Rei fan, why not sing it with that feeling in mind? Another recommendation is that it’s actually very easy to sing in terms of pitch.
lampBUMP OF CHICKEN

This is a track from their first single during their indie days.
The single is no longer available, but the song was later included on the album “THE LIVING DEAD,” so you can still listen to it today.
It’s an encouraging song that contrasts lighting a fire in one’s heart with lighting a lamp.
Little BraverBUMP OF CHICKEN

Although it’s a coupling track (the so-called B-side) on an indie single, it’s a fan favorite.
Fujiwara’s philosophy and the distinctive tone he reaches at the highest notes are incredibly cool.
It’s also included on the album FLAME VEIN.
