A magic trick where a Trump card turns into a banknote
This is a magic trick where a deck of cards transforms into a banknote in an instant when you give it a vigorous shake.
It can also be combined with card tricks like guessing a chosen card, making it useful as an opener or a segue into what comes next.
A folded bill is attached to the back of a card, and with the shaking motion you flip it over and snap it open.
Preparation and smooth handling are important—such as how to fold it, and where to hook your finger to make it open easily.
Also pay close attention to your hand angles so you don’t reveal the hidden bill on the back before the spread, or the card attached to the back after the reveal.
Scattered cards return to their original state
A mysterious magic trick where a deck that should have been mixed face up and face down instantly returns to a state where only the target cards are face up.
First, take out four cards of the same suit and mix them with twelve random cards.
By adjusting how you shuffle and how you stack the cards after distributing them haphazardly, you end up with only the four cards of the same suit—supposedly all jumbled—appearing face up.
Then, after this trick, let’s perform a similar trick using the entire deck.
You’ll create a situation where only the card chosen by a watching friend is face up.
Here, you use a deck that’s half normal cards and half cards whose faces and backs are just patterned, without numbers.
The key to this sequence is performing a trick first with an ordinary, ungimmicked deck, and then doing a trick with a deck that has a perfect secret built in.
Maxi Twist
Do you know Maxi-Twist, one of the classic magic effects devised by Roger Smith? In this routine, four aces in your hand turn face down one by one each time you shuffle.
It has strong visual impact, and it’s great because what’s happening is immediately clear.
By the way, the secret is that you actually start with four aces plus one face-down card and make use of that.
It requires advanced techniques such as the Elmsley Count, so be sure to look those up as well.
A card magic trick that lets you surprise someone with a ring as a gift
Let me introduce an astonishing magic trick where a real ring appears from a card that says “yubiwa” (ring)! If you’re planning to give a ring to your partner or significant other, perform this trick to delight them.
First, prepare two blank playing cards and write “yubiwa” on one of them.
Next, stack the cards on top of the deck in this order: place the card with “ゆびわ” written on it on top of the deck, then place the blank card on top of that.
Place a real ring on your palm, then set the deck on top of it.
First, show the audience the “Yubi-wa” card.
Then, pull out only the blank card together with the ring, and at that moment let the ring drop down—done! It’s a surprisingly simple setup, so with a bit of practice, anyone can pull it off successfully.
A card comes out of the box.
What I’ll introduce this time is a magic trick where you switch the cards inside a box—in other words, a penetration effect.
This trick is versatile and can be applied to many card routines, so practicing it is definitely worthwhile.
