Pebbles of DreamsAkiyama Kiiro

This is “Yume no Kozui,” an insert song from the film Poupelle of Chimney Town, the screen adaptation of the picture book Poupelle of Chimney Town published in 2016 by Akihiro Nishino of the comedy duo King Kong.
The story follows a protagonist who is called a liar and left all alone by those around him, and who meets a friend similarly disliked by others, and together they set off on a journey.
The lyrics convey the strength of deciding to move forward without giving up on one’s dreams—like the protagonist—embodying the idea that “nothing starts unless you believe in yourself.” The world is stressful for children, too, but I hope they will believe in themselves and push toward the future they imagine.
That gentle girlsupittsu

This is “Yasashii Ano Ko” by Spitz, released in 2019.
It’s well known as the theme song for the NHK morning drama “Natsuzora,” starring Suzu Hirose.
The familiar, easy-on-the-ears band sound makes it a quintessential Spitz track.
Masamune Kusano’s vocals remain beautiful as ever.
Through its lyrics, “Yasashii Ano Ko” conveys the idea that there’s something waiting for you beyond your hard work.
Its pleasant rhythm is calming, and you can feel a gentle warmth that stays close to your heart.
I won’t forget.D-51

This is “Wasurenai yo,” sung by the male duo D-51, who have worked on the opening theme for the anime ONE PIECE and theme songs for the Gokusen drama series.
It aired on NHK’s Minna no Uta in 2018.
The song seems to speak for the feelings parents have toward their child.
You may rebel against your parents, argue with them, or find them bothersome at times.
But even that bothersomeness is part of a parent’s love.
“Wasurenai yo” is a song that lets you feel how cherished you’ve been while growing up.
It’s okayberii guddoman

This is the song “Daijoubu” (It’s Okay) by the three-member artist group, Berry Goodman.
It was written specifically for NHK’s program Minna no Uta.
The gentle harmonies wrap around and comfort a crumpled, messy heart.
“Daijoubu” helps you recognize the fighting spirit and drive for self-improvement hidden within, telling you that even when things don’t go well, your heart is still facing forward.
It’s a song that quietly stirs your feelings and encourages you to keep moving ahead.
If you laugh at the skywacci

This is “Sora ni Waraeba” sung by the band wacci, who made their major debut in 2012.
They’re a one-of-a-kind band with many gentle songs that seem to stay close to your feelings.
When you’re a child, it can be hard to accept harsh realities.
But the effort you put in until you truly feel that hardship becomes a great asset for the rest of your life.
From the lyrics, I sense a message cheering us on for the future—something like, “Even when you run into hardship, I want you to keep charging toward your goals.” It’s a song that helps you realize what’s truly important.
Family SongHoshino Gen

Gen Hoshino’s “Family Song” is the kind of song I want people to hear when they’ve lost confidence or are feeling down.
Because it’s titled “Family Song,” you might assume it’s simply a song about family, but it conveys a warm bond that transcends blood ties, gender, and even distance.
The lyrics express a desire to always stay by someone’s side and a wish for as many happy days as possible.
Those feelings gently embrace a tired heart and bring healing.
It’s a moving, highly recommended song you can dedicate to anyone—family, a partner, or friends.
ultramarineYOASOBI

This is YOASOBI’s “Gunjou,” a song that has drawn attention for being based on a novel.
The chemistry between vocalist ikura and producer Ayase is outstanding here as well.
Not only the melody line but also the fragile sounds created by various instruments that color the track are moving to the point of tears.
It feels as if the lyrics speak for the anxious feelings that arise while trying to move forward.
Amid the many points that inspire empathy, the powerful words in the chorus give you a push on the back.
It’s a song that feels like YOASOBI washes away your anxieties.
