CRYSTAL LAKE is a Japanese band formed in 2002, rooted in hardcore and metalcore.

All their songs are awesome, but here are some especially recommended tracks.

Formed in 2002, Crystal Lake is the band that truly represents Japan’s metalcore scene in both name and reality.

From their early days, they actively toured not only in Japan but overseas as well, and they’ve now become a band that fires up audiences around the world.

While rooted in classic metalcore, their wide-ranging sound sometimes evokes the late-’90s loud rock movement, and at other times reveals a modern technical metal edge.

It’s fair to say they embody Japanese metalcore itself.

This is one of my favorite songs too.

I love its grand, expansive feel.

The chorus is really pleasant to listen to.

It also has a pop touch in the chorus, which makes it easy to listen to.

Above all, that sense of grandeur is just incredibly cool.

It sounded awesome when I heard it live, too.

The opening guitar phrase sticks in your head and has a wonderfully tasteful feel.

Above all, the fact that Koie from Crossfaith—one of Japan’s leading hardcore and progressive metal bands—participates in this track is an absolutely hype highlight.
