dateRADWIMPS

A song with a slightly melancholy atmosphere.
I feel like it was playing during Taki and Ms.
Okudera’s first date scene.
Even though he finally gets to go on a date with the senior he admires, something else keeps nagging at him, and Ms.
Okudera senses it, making their relationship a bit awkward.
The melody feels like it could bring you to tears; it seems to express, through sound, the anxieties, doubts, and inner conflicts we carry in everyday life.
Date 2RADWIMPS

While he’s floundering in his job hunt as a university student, Okudera-senpai comes to see Taki for the first time in a while.
Taki has grown a bit more mature since those feelings back then.
When he sees the ring gleaming on her ring finger, his heart seems to react differently than before.
The melody is bittersweet, yet you can sense Taki’s growth.
The slightly clashing dissonance woven into the flowing piano line feels like it expresses Taki’s life itself.
Dip!Dip!Dip!RAG FAIR

Originally released as the B-side to the 2004 single “HANA,” it was later included on the album “CIRCLE.” You might remember it from the McDonald’s “Fish McDippers” commercial.
The driving, up-tempo beat and rapid-fire vocal melody are incredibly uplifting! It’s a top-notch uptune even a cappella.
The resonant vocals are so fun you’ll catch yourself humming along! With its bursting energy, it’s perfect as party BGM, for pumping yourself up before a game, or for feeling free and open on a drive.
D.A.N.C.E.ROTTENGRAFFTY

ROTTENGRAFFTY is a five-piece rock band based in Kyoto.
Since forming in 1999, they’ve pushed straight ahead through ups and downs.
They released their first mini-album, “RADICAL PEACE×RADICAL GENOCIDE,” in 2001, and made their major-label debut with Universal Music in 2006.
Their appeal lies in a diverse musical style that spans loud rock, ska, punk, and hip-hop, along with melodies that carry the essence of classic Japanese pop.
They’re also known for their performance skills, sometimes delivering improvised vocals live.
If you like melodic, accessible tunes paired with a heavy sound, ROTTENGRAFFTY comes highly recommended.

Since 2003, they have hosted the “MDT Festival” at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall.
Aiming for a cosmic sound, ROVO’s music is dazzling in its grandeur, evoking a sense of infinite expanse.
They are an instrumental band that offers a big, cinematic scale and a taste of another world.
DebrisReoNa

ReoNa’s new song is like a treasure that delivers a precious message resonating deep within the heart.
The lyrics, which question the meaning of life and one’s own worth, will surely leave a deep imprint on listeners.
Released in January 2025, this track has been chosen as the theme song for the game “SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada.” Her vocals, perfectly harmonized with the game’s worldview, are guaranteed to move players.
It’s a must-listen for anyone feeling lost in life or seeking to discover their own sense of value.
DDDREOL

Reol is a female singer-songwriter who’s popular among young people for her sharp sound and versatile musical style.
Her powerful vocal ability, born from a distinctly cool vocal tone, leaves a strong impression, and her songs are crafted to be high-difficulty pieces that suit that voice perfectly.
Among her works, the one I especially recommend is DDD.
It features a K-pop-like musicality, and its fusion of EDM, hip-hop, and various forms of club music is truly impressive.
The vocal lines are equally challenging to match that style, so if you’re confident in your singing ability, definitely give it a try.
