Expressing snow through tampo play

Let’s enjoy making Christmas crafts using a “tanpo” (a simple stamp-style painting tool)! A tanpo is an easy painting tool that even 0-year-olds can enjoy, and you can make it with familiar materials.

Stack 3–4 plastic bottle caps and secure them with duct tape to create the handle.

Next, place some cotton on top of a piece of gauze, position the cap handle at the center, press it down, and wrap the gauze around it.

Finish by securing it with a rubber band and wrapping tape over it—and it’s done! You can also use the tanpo to create snow, imagining a Christmas night scene.

Let’s let the children experience the joy of expression.

Make it with tissue paper! Here’s a fluffy snowman craft idea.

What you’ll need: paper plates, glue, tissue paper, construction paper, and crayons.

Cut out the center of one paper plate, apply glue around the outer ring, and attach the tissue paper.

Using multiple colors instead of just one makes it extra cute.

On another paper plate, draw the snowman’s face with crayons, then top it with a bucket hat made from construction paper—and you’re done! It will look lovely on a wall or hanging from the ceiling.

Enjoy making your fluffy snowman!

Simple Christmas tree with stickers

Why not try making a simple Christmas wreath with the kids? The finished look is stylish, so it’s sure to be something families will want to display at home.

As prep, cut out red and green circles from construction paper.

Use glue to attach them alternately to form a ring.

Have the children decorate the wreath with round stickers, star stickers, and the like.

Finally, attach a ribbon so it can hang on the wall, and it’s done! It’s a great idea because there aren’t many chic wreath crafts that 0- and 1-year-olds can make.

Decalcomania tree

[Crafts] Three Christmas Crafts for Infants [Daycare/Kindergarten]
Decalcomania tree

Here’s a Christmas tree idea using a technique called decalcomania.

Decalcomania means “transfer.” Fold a piece of construction paper cut into a tree shape in half, open it, apply paint to only one side, then close it.

When you open it, the paint will have transferred to the other side, as if it were printed there.

For infants (around 0 years old), it’s nice to help them with folding the paper and let them enjoy the patterns that appear when you open it.

Once the paint patterns are done, glue on the trunk and a star to finish.

It won’t break easily even when displayed! Here’s an idea for a yarn-wrapped tree.

You’ll need green yarn, glitter yarn, cardboard, a clear bag, pipe cleaners, construction paper, cotton swabs, and paint.

First, wrap the green yarn around the cardboard.

Then wrap the glitter yarn over it.

Use a cotton swab dipped in white paint to stamp snow onto a triangle-cut piece of construction paper.

Place the cardboard and the paper into a clear bag to finish.

If you punch a hole at the top of the bag and thread a pipe cleaner through, you can also use it as an ornament.

Paper cup Christmas boots

Easy Craft! Making Christmas Boots with Paper Cups [Includes Tips for Kids’ Crafting]
Paper cup Christmas boots

Here’s a cute Christmas boot idea that you can easily make using paper cups.

First, cut the boot parts out of construction paper and attach them to the paper cup.

Next, use a hole punch to make holes in the cup and attach chenille stems (pipe cleaners) as handles.

Please have the teacher prepare these steps in advance.

What we’d like the 0-year-old children to do is decorate the boots.

Let them add cute decorations using round colored stickers and other materials.

Since the boots are red, please prepare stickers in colors that will stand out against the red.

This is a recommended craft activity for infants.

They’re making snow globes.

On circles cut from construction paper, children draw spiral circles with crayons and add shiny round stickers to represent the snow globes.

Showing them a real snow globe before starting can help spark their imagination.

Provide crayons and stickers in various colors and let them freely create their own snow globe worlds.

Crafts that use stickers are also perfect for practicing fine motor skills!
