If you line up many green cones, don’t they look like Christmas trees? It’s a simple yet design-forward idea for wall decorations.

Use a compass to draw circles on construction paper and cut them out, then cut them in half.

Glue the half-circles into cones and make lots of them! This could also be a great activity for recreation in care facilities.

Drawing on the trees or decorating them with pompoms and sparkly tinsel makes them extra cute.

Christmas tree made with an eraser stamp

Eraser stamps are a lot of fun, even if you feel a little sorry for the eraser itself.

A similar activity might be the rubber block prints we made in elementary school art class, right? I remember carving the zodiac animals to use on New Year’s cards.

If you’re good with your hands, making a calendar with eraser prints would be great, too.

Try carving Christmas-related motifs like fir trees, stars, presents, and snow.

Your sense of style will show in how you combine them and arrange the colors.

And please be very careful with the carving tools!

Why not arrange tassels—cute little decorations that look like tiny brooms—into a Christmas tree? Their stylish look will instantly brighten up any bare wall! Tassels are very easy to make.

Stack several sheets of thin paper such as tissue or crepe paper, fold them in half, and make cuts about 1 cm apart, leaving the top edge uncut.

Next, open up one sheet and accordion-fold it tightly from the bottom toward the top to complete the tassel! It’s so simple that it’s perfect for activities at care facilities, too.

Even small twigs can transform into a big tree depending on how you combine them! Tie together twigs you find along the road with string, then decorate them with various ornaments.

Store-bought ornaments are of course fine, but if you also pick up different nuts and leaves while gathering twigs, those can become splendid ornaments too.

Hang your decorated tree on the wall, and you’ll have a tree that exudes a gentle, natural atmosphere.

It can be hard to go outside during the cold season, but take a short walk to look for materials and give tree-making a try!

Attach string or nylon tape to the wall, then tie on inflated balloons.

If you bring the string forward more as you go lower, the whole tree gains depth and looks even cuter.

Once you’ve made the tree base with balloons, create and add the star for the top and other ornaments.

Inflating balloons takes lung power, so it’s a bit of a workout! For ornaments, make whatever you like—such as Santa Claus or Christmas boots—using colored paper or chenille stems, and decorate away!

Christmas tree mobile

Would you like to make a cute mobile with a twirling Christmas tree? Cutting and gluing the templates and cardstock, and assembling the parts, can also help improve concentration for older adults.

First, place the tree and star-shaped templates on cardstock and cut them out.

Next, glue the cut pieces together to create a three-dimensional tree.

Punch a hole at the top of the star, tie on a string to hang the mobile, and you’re done.

Try varying the number of mobiles you hang to create a festive wall decoration.

A big Christmas tree

Let’s create a large Christmas tree on the wall—an iconic holiday decoration.

The process is to decorate triangular pieces in green and arrange them into a tree shape, intentionally leaving gaps so the overall form still reads as a tree while adding a sense of depth.

Once the tree shape is set, including the trunk pieces, it’s recommended to decorate the surrounding area to aim for an even more luxurious look.

If you incorporate reflective elements like gold tape to catch the light, the festive excitement of Christmas will stand out even more.
