Masterpieces and popular songs by Dragon Ash
Dragon Ash is centered around vocalist Kj (Kenji Furuya) and consists of highly skilled musicians and dancers.
Formed in 1996, they are a mixture rock band that began their activities that year.
At the time, the concept of “mixture,” which crosses over different genres in the Japanese music scene, wasn’t as widespread as it is now.
In Japan, the pioneers of that field were Dragon Ash.
Staying true to their image, they’ve continued to evolve as a rock band ever since their debut.
This time, we’ll be taking a closer look at them!
We researched their past hits and classic tracks and handpicked a selection.
There are plenty to explore, so take your time and enjoy!

Masterpieces and popular songs by Dragon Ash (61–70)
Posse in NoiseDragon Ash

A danceable number that erupts with an up-tempo rhythm and flow right from the start! Rather than a straight-ahead rock groove, it has a Latin beat that makes your hips sway before you know it.
In live shows, riding this rhythm, the two dancers’ moves get noticeably more aggressive.
The title means “there is jubilation in the noise.” The lyrics, too, are charged with heat, capturing the frenzy of a live venue just as it is!
Rainy Day And DayDragon Ash

It seems to be a song that has been used in a commercial.
Doesn’t it make you feel kind of gentle? I was surprised to find myself feeling the way you do after listening to a ballad.
Once you hear it, the big chorus really sticks with you and makes you want to listen again.
I went and looked for it on iTunes right away (lol).
The Show Must Go OnDragon Ash

Included on their 10th album, THE FACES, released in 2014.
It’s the second track following the introduction, with English lyrics earnestly expressing sentiments like “It’s too soon to end the show” and “Nothing starts if we only dwell on what we’ve lost.” This is their first full album since the loss of bassist IK Z NE in 2012.
I feel the song radiates a determination to carry on as a six-member band.
Starting with this album, RIZE’s KenKen joined as the bassist for both live performances and recording.
Viva La RevolutionDragon Ash

Included on their fifth album, Viva La Revolution, which became Dragon Ash’s biggest hit.
Even amid criticism of their multifaceted style that blends both rock and hip-hop, this song powerfully declares their resolve for a “revolution” to create new music.
Don’t turn a blind eye—fight, stand up.
Many of the lyrics Kj writes give that kind of strong push, and I can’t even count how many times this album has helped me when I was about to lose heart.
I think Dragon Ash’s appeal lies not only in how cool the sound is, but also in the messages embedded in their lyrics.
FeverDragon Ash ft. Miho

Kensuke Furuya’s best masterpiece from his younger days.
It’s included on the album “Mustang!” and lets you feel the youthful, high-energy Dragon Ash.
It’s one of those tracks that clearly shows how earnestly he was thinking about life, even at a young age.
CanvasDragon Ash

I thought it was easy to listen to because it’s not an overly intense song.
I’ve heard it a few times before, and it reminded me of playing it as background music when going for a night drive.
Dragon Ash has a lot of powerful tracks, but songs like this are lovely too, aren’t they?
Monkey Punch Monkey KickDragon Ash

Starting with an upbeat intro, the track leans more toward melodic hardcore than straight rock.
Its dreamy lyrics and catchy melody line are sure to win over even those who don’t know Dragon Ash.
It’s a lesser-known song, but highly recommended.
