A wonderful Japanese music band

Masterpieces and popular songs by Dragon Ash

Dragon Ash is centered around vocalist Kj (Kenji Furuya) and consists of highly skilled musicians and dancers.

Formed in 1996, they are a mixture rock band that began their activities that year.

At the time, the concept of “mixture,” which crosses over different genres in the Japanese music scene, wasn’t as widespread as it is now.

In Japan, the pioneers of that field were Dragon Ash.

Staying true to their image, they’ve continued to evolve as a rock band ever since their debut.

This time, we’ll be taking a closer look at them!

We researched their past hits and classic tracks and handpicked a selection.

There are plenty to explore, so take your time and enjoy!

When I listen to this super hype song, I just want to throw my hands up, jump, and go wild having fun (lol).

It gets everyone fired up, so I think it’s an awesome track to listen to with friends.

The way they perform is just incredibly cool, so I really want you to see it.

I think this is a song I can recommend to people who aren’t into the typical high-energy band tracks.

Personally, I love the gentle piano melody in the intro, and that part alone instantly made me fall in love with the song (lol).

Overall, it’s easy to listen to, so it’s a track I’d like first-time listeners to try.

Even if I count sheep, the night won’t end.Dragon Ash

When I first saw the title of this song, I could hardly imagine what kind of song it would be.

Since Dragon Ash’s songs are usually cool, I remember finding this cute-sounding title a bit puzzling.

When I actually listened to it, I was even more surprised—it turned out to be a high-energy track bursting with that quintessential Dragon Ash vibe.

Mustang a Go ! Go !Dragon Ash

Mustang a Go! Go! kicks off with full-on rock from the intro, and the reason the lyrics— which could easily come off as really cheesy if mishandled— end up sounding this cool is surely thanks to the melody and Kenji Furuyas vocal prowess.

It features an intense mixture sound that symbolizes Dragon Ash from that era.

The instrumental “keep it out~” really sticks in your ears.

The music video also features skateboards and BMX, and there’s no doubt it’s an extremely exciting track.

The Live feat. KenKenDragon Ash

As you’d expect from a track created by vocalist Kj together with KenKen, who plays bass with them, The Live boldly spotlights KenKen’s bass.

His slap playing, which pops up throughout the song, is absolutely superb! There are even parts where KenKen handles the lead vocals while slapping, making it a must-listen for his fans.

It’s a live staple too, and on stage it becomes a killer tune that sends the floor into a frenzy as they freely manipulate the tempo mid-song.

Bring ItDragon Ash

Overall, it pushes a hard rock sound with a rock-leaning mix.

It’s the kind of track where you enjoy the groove more than the lyrics’ meaning.

Even among Dragon Ash’s songs, there might not be another that focuses this much on the vibe.

If you like rock, you’ll definitely love this one.
