Creating an April calendar is a lovely recreation that lets older adults feel the changing seasons right at their fingertips.

Works themed around the breath of spring—cherry blossoms, tulips, strawberries—gently soften the heart each time you look at them.

From origami and tissue flowers to watercolor and clay craft, the materials and techniques are diverse.

The time spent moving your hands while chatting with those around you—saying things like, “This color feels so springlike”—naturally fosters smiles and conversation.

Here, we present ideas for making calendars packed with the vibrant colors of spring.

May the process of creating a calendar—which also serves as finger exercise and brain training—offer a moment to feel the arrival of spring.

Dandelion and LadybugNEW!

Yellow dandelions shining under the warm spring sunlight, and ladybugs that made us happy whenever we found them.

Why not incorporate a design that brings back childhood memories into your spring calendar? For the dandelions, take a circular piece of construction paper and fold it in half three times.

Then draw the petals, cut them out, and unfold—this will create a flower shape.

Make three of these in different sizes, layer them, and glue them together.

For the ladybug, use large and small black circles of construction paper for the head and body, and attach them together.

Take a red circular piece of construction paper decorated with dot stickers, fold it in half, and glue it in place as the wings.

Add antennae and eye stickers to finish.

Combine the dandelions and ladybugs to design a spring scene on your calendar.

In April, there is a holiday called Easter.

It is a Christian event that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but it also carries the meaning of celebrating the arrival of spring.

This idea is a calendar design that incorporates rabbits and eggs—well-known symbols of Easter.

Attach rabbits and eggs made from construction paper to the design surface, then glue jute twine beneath them by layering it in spiraling circles.

Finally, decorate the jute twine area with flowers made from origami, and it’s complete.

After making the calendar, why not celebrate Easter together with everyone?

The handy Multi Liner lets you draw both dots and lines with a single pen.

In this project, we’ll use pink, yellow, green, and more to create a spring-themed calendar.

First, draw flowers along the top and bottom of the calendar.

Stamp the liner like a seal to form the flowers, then add stems and branches.

For the top, imagine cherry blossoms; for the bottom, think of rounded flowers like dandelions and white clover.

In the center, use a black pen to write the dates and days of the week, and color Sundays and holidays with a red liner.

Finish by writing the month in English, and you’re done.

Express spring in your own color palette.

Brain Training Calendar with Cherry BlossomsNEW!

@happy_kizuna

This month as well! We made an April calendar 🌸 We designed it by moving our fingertips with tissue paper flowers and had everyone come up with the final words for a spring haiku 📝 It’s an irresistibly one-of-a-kind piece 💛 The original haiku is by Ayako Hosomi 😊 Cherry blossoms bloom— in full splendor, yet feeling lonely.Care Center KizunaCalendar#CherryBlossomworkSpring craftsAyako Hosomi

How about designing a calendar with cherry blossoms created by crumpling tissue paper? Next to the cherry tree, there is also a haiku by Ayako Hosomi.

It’s a clever two-for-one idea: moving your fingers with the crumpling motion and then coming up with your own final line to turn it into brain training.

It’s fun to think, “What kind of haiku should I make?” while you’re crumpling, and natural conversation will likely blossom with those working alongside you.

As you share spring-themed verses, moments of “I see!”—along with delight and laughter—will emerge, ensuring a wonderful crafting time.

Single-minded Cinderella! – 1st chorus ver. – CUTIE STREET

Announce the arrival of spring with a calendar featuring a design of a Japanese bush warbler and cherry blossoms.

The warbler’s wings are expressed with a check pattern on a vivid yellow-green base.

The cherry blossoms are crafted using two shades of pink, with folds to depict petals and a slight indentation at the center to create a three-dimensional effect.

Petals are also arranged around the blossoms, giving the piece a sense of motion despite being a flat work.

The calendar’s backing uses light blue—enjoy the contrast of sky, cherry blossoms, and warbler.

Calendar of Cherry Blossoms and DandelionsNEW!

This calendar design luxuriously incorporates iconic spring flowers like cherry blossoms and dandelions.

The flower sections use tissue paper, giving a soft, airy look that feels wonderfully spring-like.

It’s easy to recreate: cut out parts like trunks and leaves from construction paper, arrange them on the page, and simply attach balled-up tissue paper for the blossoms.

For the cherry blossoms, scattering punch-cut flower pieces on top will make it even more striking.

For the dandelions, using white tissue paper to depict the fluffy seed heads is also recommended!

Wool Yarn Dandelion CalendarNEW!

Realistic dandelions made from yarn! Incorporating them into a calendar design highlights the three-dimensional effect, creating a piece that makes you want to touch it every time you see it.

Wrap yarn around your finger or a piece of cardboard about 20–30 times, then remove it and tie the center with a short piece of cut yarn.

Next, snip through the looped sections with scissors and trim away the excess yarn to form a hemisphere.

Once the dandelion is finished, pair it with paper-cut butterflies to recreate a spring scene.

It’s very easy to make, so be sure to use this idea in your creations.
