Pun Quiz

It’s like a riddle and really fun! Here are some ideas for pun quizzes.
By using puns, you can create laughter while learning words—a unique idea.
For example, for the question “What card game is a tiger playing?” the answer would be “toranpu” (trump), a play on words in Japanese.
Try coming up with answers that work like puns.
Children will develop creativity by twisting words to produce funny answers.
It’s something you can enjoy with family and friends while experiencing the fun of wordplay, and it helps build vocabulary and a sense of humor too! Let’s think up questions together, from easy to a bit challenging, and find the answers while laughing.

Let us introduce a teacher derby that will liven up your kindergarten graduation party.
This is a game that involves the teachers’ cooperation.
First, you tell a few teachers a challenge.
For example, for the challenge “say a tongue twister without stumbling,” the participants decide which teacher they think can say the tongue twister smoothly and place points on their choice.
If the teacher they chose manages to say it without stumbling, they earn the points.
Since the children have spent a long time with their teachers, they probably know who is good at what, so be sure to enjoy playing this game together with the kids!
Name-guessing game

A name-guessing quiz using photos taken as a record of growth.
We’ll look at childhood photos and try to guess who’s who.
Children’s faces change little by little as they grow, don’t they? Prepare several photos, and if it’s too difficult, offer a hint by showing a photo closer to the person’s current age.
Cute childhood photos are sure to get everyone excited.
I think it will be a wonderful time to share memories of growth together.
Photos from when parents or teachers were little would probably be a hit too.
Hiragana Quiz

An idea for a hiragana quiz that lets you learn hiragana like a game.
On a screen or on paper, you look for the odd one out among a set of hiragana characters.
For example, imagine a row of き with a single さ mixed in.
I’d like learners to approach it like a spot-the-difference activity, thinking, “Where’s the odd one out?” Then gradually make it more complex by moving from characters to words and increasing the number of characters.
It’s also great because everyone can work together cooperatively.
Real Spot the Difference

It’s a game where you try a spot-the-difference challenge—not with drawings, but with real people.
You’ll first look at a lineup of people holding various props, then see them again and think about what’s changed compared to the earlier scene.
What matters is memorizing the initial setup thoroughly, down to the small details, and noticing subtle discrepancies when it switches.
Adjust the difficulty by varying the size and number of differences, and get everyone excited by challenging them with trickier changes.

Drawing Quiz

“Drawing Quiz” is a game where you draw a picture based on a prompt within a short time, and others try to guess what it is.
While drawing skill helps, the key is how well you can express the prompt! You can also compete using a points system or in teams, making it a perfect quiz for a large farewell party.
Choosing prompts related to the farewell theme is sure to get everyone excited!
Proverb Quiz

This is a quiz where you answer the meanings of given proverbs.
Even if you’ve seen or heard them before, it might be hard to answer accurately.
Conversely, it could be fun to guess the proverb from its meaning.
It’s a quiz that helps with Japanese language study.
It may be challenging to give all the meanings for each proverb.
If you make it a fill-in-the-blank or multiple-choice quiz, kids can relax and enjoy it.
It’s also nice to divide into groups and have them think about the answers together.
This quiz is recommended for elementary school farewell parties.
