[Childcare] I want to have fun with the kids! Sample Questions for a Me Quiz
A self-quiz is a quiz you make about yourself.
The fact that only the quizmaster knows the correct answers makes it exciting and thrilling, doesn’t it?
For children, quiz games are fun but tend to be a bit challenging.
So this time, we’ve collected example questions for self-quizzes that are easy for kids to create.
The experience of having the teacher and classmates think about the answers will be valuable both for the quizmaster and for the other children.
When you learn the answers, you discover yet another new side of your friends.
Try incorporating this into your playtime with children.

What is the toy I want right now?
This is a quiz: What toy do I want right now? The teacher should get the answer in advance.
At first, guesses based on intuition are fine, and if no one gets it, it’s also good to give hints and think it through together.
Don’t limit “toy” to just playthings—things like a bicycle or a DS can be included, too.
Good hints include questions like: Does it have wheels? How big is it? How many people can play with it? Doing the quiz will likely make it more fun as you get to know your friends better.
What is the snack that I like?
Kids love snacks, don’t they? So let’s turn our favorite snacks into a quiz! That said, there are so many kinds of snacks—savory chips, traditional Japanese sweets, fruit, sweet breads—people think of different things when they hear “snack.” Because of that, even if you ask a quiz question, it might be hard to get the right answer right away.
In that case, give hints step by step, like the color or shape.
I’m sure that back-and-forth will be fun too!
What is the creature I like?
This quiz asks: What is the animal I like? The animal doesn’t have to be a mammal—you can include insects, fish, dinosaurs, and more.
As hints, it might be more engaging to ask about various aspects of its ecology, such as its size, what it eats, its color, and where it lives.
It could also be fun to have the participants provide the hints.
One of the great appeals of this quiz is that it helps you learn about your friends’ preferences and personalities.
What playground equipment do I like?
Slides, swings, jungle gyms, and monkey bars—there are lots of playground equipment in schoolyards and parks.
Every child probably has at least one favorite piece of equipment.
So why not turn their favorite into a guessing quiz? Since the equipment installed can vary by location, it’s good to present questions in a way that’s easy for children to picture, such as “the one in the schoolyard” or “the one at ___ Park.” If they’re having trouble answering, give them some support by reminding them what kinds of playground equipment there are.
What food do I dislike?
What would you say are foods that kids don’t like? Many might answer bitter vegetables like green peppers or spinach.
But while you might know what your friends like, you might not really know what they don’t like.
So try turning it into a “me quiz”: present your least favorite foods and have everyone guess! You might find others who dislike the same things and bond over it, or talk about ways to overcome those dislikes.
If you dislike something unexpected, people may ask, “Why don’t you like it?”—which becomes a chance for them to get to know you better!
What color do you think I like?
Do the children know their friends’ favorite colors? If they’re close friends, they might figure it out right away.
The child whose color is guessed will surely be happy, too.
Through drawing and craft activities, children are exposed to many colors.
Their favorite color might have changed.
It would be great if they can work with the teacher to give good hints during the quiz.
They might find someone who likes the same color, or by learning others’ favorite colors, they might notice what’s appealing about those colors.
It’s a theme that seems full of various discoveries.
What do I want to be when I grow up?
The theme of this quiz is: What do I want to be when I grow up? For example, it might not be a specific job—it could even be an anime character—so if it’s hard to guess, let’s add more hints as we go.
Offering various clues like “How many people have that job?” or “Why do you want to do that job?” can also be a good mental workout.
Plus, learning the answer helps you understand the person’s character better, which can make it even more interesting.
