[Even if you’re tone-deaf, it’s okay!] Easy-to-sing karaoke songs for women (251–260)

beautiful-nessBiSH

Included on the indie second album “FAKE METAL JACKET,” “beautiful-sa” has become one of BiSH’s signature songs.

The lyrics were written by the newly joined member Ling Ling, and the track was chosen as the opening theme for the variety show “Kayo wa Zenryoku! Hakadasan to Chidori-kun.” With a generally low key and a not-so-wide vocal range, it’s easy to try even for those who aren’t confident singers.

It’s an exhilarating rock tune whose driving ensemble and edgy guitar sound will hype up any karaoke session.

PUFFY’s debut single, released in May 1996.

It was used in a Kirin Beverage “Tennen Sodachi” commercial featuring the duo themselves, and became a breakthrough hit, achieving million-seller status right out of the gate.

Incidentally, the lyrics were written by Yosui Inoue and the composition/arrangement by Tamio Okuda; the two later produced a self-cover version as well.

It’s a medium- to up-tempo, feel-good track that makes you happy just by listening! In the 1990s, when this song was made, songs that were frequently sung at karaoke—and easy to sing at karaoke—were considered key to a hit.

Reflecting that trend, “Asia no Junshin” was crafted to be very easy to sing even for those with a limited vocal range or who aren’t confident singers.

Don’t overthink it—just hum along and have fun.

Just be sure to keep solidly in time with the rhythm.

The 8th single “Yureru Omoi,” known as a massive hit that recorded million-seller status.

Used in Otsuka Pharmaceutical’s Pocari Sweat commercial, it’s also recognized as one of ZARD’s signature songs.

The transition can be tricky because the verse sections sit low while the chorus soars into a piercing high range, but the melody is simple and relaxed, making it easier to tackle if you sing calmly.

It’s a famous song everyone knows, so it’s sure to get the crowd going at karaoke—be sure to learn it and give it a try!

ai no hanaaimyon

This is Aimyon’s 14th single, released digitally in April 2023, with a CD single release also planned for June of the same year.

It was reportedly written as the theme song for the first half of NHK’s 2023 morning drama series Ranman.

Basically, the song features a very simple, singable melody and tempo, so I think it’s one of the best choices when you want to aim for a high score at karaoke.

Try practicing to keep the slightly side-to-side swaying rhythm from becoming flat, and to switch smoothly into the higher notes within the melody.

Ninjari Ban Bankyarī pamyu pamyu

This is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s fifth single overall, released in March 2013.

It was used as the CM song for KDDI and Okinawa Cellular’s “au Turn surprise into common sense.

‘FULL CONTROL/REAL’” commercial.

Just listening to it puts you in a fun mood—it’s a slightly comical track! There’s no need for any difficult explanations to sing this cheerful song.

You can have fun by mimicking the slightly Vocaloid-style vocal production, or enjoy it as a group sing-along with everyone there.

In any case, ride the rhythm, raise your voice, and just enjoy singing!

This is a single by singer-songwriter Miyuki Nakajima.

The original version was released in December 1975, but the one I’m introducing here is the self-cover version released in December 1993.

The song has been used in many TV show theme songs and commercials, and has been covered by numerous other artists, so many of you have likely heard it before.

As you’d expect from such a well-known track, both the melody and the lyrics are very memorable, and it’s the kind of song you can enjoy singing casually, almost like humming along.

Even in the gentler passages, try to sing with solid projection so that your voice retains its core.

The group’s 19th single, “Itsuka Dekiru Kara Kyou Dekiru,” was selected as the theme song for the film Asahinagu, in which members appeared.

It was also used as the CM song for Haruyama Shoji’s “Regional Support Festival.” As the title suggests, its message—act on your ideas right away—really hits home.

With a narrow vocal range and no large melodic leaps, it’s approachable even for those who aren’t confident singers.

It’s a refreshing pop tune that feels great to sing over a clear, transparent ensemble.
