[Karaoke] A roundup of songs that are easy for women to sing! (231–240)

Kiss me right nowLINDBERG

This was the second single by the Japanese rock band LINDBERG, released in February 1990.

It was used as the theme song for the Fuji TV drama “Sekai de Ichiban Kimi ga Suki!” The late ’80s to early ’90s was an era of an unprecedented band boom in Japan’s music scene.

Riding that wave, this track was released and became a huge hit, praised for vocalist Maki Watase’s energetic singing and the upbeat, bright melody that matched her voice perfectly.

You don’t need to overthink anything to sing this song! Just raise your voice cheerfully and energetically, and have fun!

Ojamajo Carnival!!MAHO dō

Ojamajo Carnival!!MAHO dō

This is the theme song of the first season of the TV anime Ojamajo Doremi, released in March 1999.

It’s performed by MOHO-dou, a unit made up of the show’s voice actors: Doremi Harukaze (Chiemi Chiba), Hazuki Fujiwara (Tomoko Akiya), and Aiko Senoo (Yuki Matsuoka), among others.

In other words, it’s an anime song.

Unlike anime songs from the Showa era, from the 1990s onward there’s been a trend toward much more difficult songs to sing, even within anison.

But amid that, this track is a classic, the kind of song anime-loving kids can all sing together in chorus—truly the royal road of anison! It’s a perfect pick for casual singing and having fun with everyone.

If you know the anime, it might be fun to get into character and sing as them, too.

Don’t worry about singing well or poorly—forget the little details and just sing together and enjoy!

This song, which drew attention for its cute vocals and adorable dance, is quite easy to sing because the melody doesn’t move up and down much.

Released in 2007 as Perfume’s fifth single, it was also used as an insert song in the movie Cars 2.

This was the second single by Princess Princess—who could be called pioneers among all-female rock bands—released on July 16, 1987.

A remake version of the same song was later released as their eighth single on July 1, 1989.

True to its title, it’s crafted as a pop-rock tune that evokes a refreshing summer, and the vocal melody doesn’t have any particularly tricky parts, so even those who aren’t confident singers can easily pick it for karaoke and have fun.

As for me, I’ve actually been a fan since before they broke big, and I remember being thrilled when they performed this song ahead of its release at a live show.

Are you sane to marry them?SARD UNDERGROUND

This is the fourth digital single by the three-woman rock band SARD UNDERGROUND, released in July 2023.

It was selected as the opening theme for the TOKYO MX drama “Sono Kekkon, Shouki Desu ka?” (Are You Sane to Marry?).

As SARD UNDERGROUND originated as a ZARD tribute band, the song strongly reflects ZARD’s style.

The vocal melody is very straightforward and easy to remember, making it a tune many people can casually hum along to.

Throughout the song, singing lightly and without tension is the key to making it sound good, so please give it a try.

Swaying Feelings (What a beautiful memory 2007)

ZARD’s eighth single, released in May 1993.

The melody seems crafted with a strong awareness of the karaoke market—a hallmark of many ’90s hits—making it very approachable, easy to remember, and easy to sing.

However, because it’s sung by Izumi Sakai, whose clear, translucent voice is a key attraction, keeping it in the original key might be a bit tough for those who struggle with high notes.

It’s a good idea to check key settings beforehand if you plan to sing it.

Choosing a key that lets you project your voice a little will likely make it sound just right.

the first strong spring windkyandīzu

This was Candies’ ninth single, released in March 1976.

Candies can now rightly be called a legendary idol group.

As you’d expect from artists active in the 1970s who racked up major hits, their vocal abilities were quite impressive.

While it may not be easy to sing a song with this level of polish, the composition itself follows the classic melodic development of 70s idol pop, making it very easy to sing and to remember.

In that sense, it’s fair to call it a very singable song.

If you’re in your late 40s to 50s as of 2021, many of you may have sung this song at a class presentation or school event.

When this song came out, I was in elementary school and didn’t listen closely to the finer points, but hearing it now, I notice it even incorporates synthesizer sounds, which were just starting to be introduced into pop music arrangements at the time.

It’s a delightful track that still offers new discoveries.
