[Karaoke] A Big Roundup of Songs That Are Easy for Women to Sing! (311–320)

Don’t you see!ZARD

Don’t you see! (What a beautiful memory 2009)
Don't you see!ZARD

ZARD’s 19th single, released in January 1997.

It also served as the second ending theme for the Fuji TV anime Dragon Ball GT.

A hallmark of ZARD’s music—and 1990s J-pop in general—is how easy it is for anyone to sing along to, especially at karaoke.

This song is no exception: it’s very easy to remember and sing.

It’s also a bit more up-tempo for a ZARD track, which I think makes it even more singable and catchy.

Try setting aside any anxiety about singing and simply enjoy the act of singing and using your voice.

It’s a perfect song for that!

My friendZARD

My Friend (What a beautiful memory 2008)
My friendZARD

This is ZARD’s 17th single, released in January 1996.

ZARD produced many hits in the 1990s, and this song was no exception, serving as the ending theme for the final cour of the TV anime Slam Dunk.

With this release, ZARD achieved their third million-selling single.

As was typical for 90s songs that were crafted with karaoke in mind, this track is very easy to sing in terms of both tempo and vocal range.

Not limited to this song, ZARD’s hits from that era are a treasure trove of karaoke-friendly tunes, so if this article has piqued your interest, we encourage you to look them up.

Open your heartZARD

Open your heartZARD

This is ZARD’s 18th single, released on May 6, 1996.

At the time, it was also used in a Pocari Sweat commercial.

While many ’90s J-pop songs are easy to sing at karaoke, ZARD’s songs are a real treasure trove of singable tracks! Among them, “Open Your Heart” (Kokoro wo Hirai te), which I’m introducing here, keeps its vocal melody mainly in the mid-range—not too high and not too low—so it’s very easy to sing even for women who aren’t comfortable with extreme high or low notes.

I also think Izumi Sakai’s voice, in the best sense, has a very simple, unadorned quality that adds to the song’s familiarity.

So relax your shoulders and feel free to give it a try.

blue skyaiko

aiko - “Blue Sky” music video

This is Aiko’s 39th single, released in February 2020.

The melody is written within a range that most women can sing without strain, so it should be comfortable for many female singers.

The tempo and rhythm don’t have any tricky parts, making it a song that’s easy to pick up.

Since Aiko has a distinctive vocal tone and singing style, trying a bit of imitation could be fun, too.

Although in regular vocal lessons, I always say that kind of singing is a total no-no (lol).

A Song for Youerica

A song by singer Erica, released in 2014.

It’s a beautiful slow ballad with a very approachable melody, so even people who don’t usually sing might feel comfortable choosing it.

The original key may be a bit tough in the high range for some, so you might want to be careful with the key setting.

As long as you don’t miss the key adjustment, I think most people will be able to sing it smoothly.

The slightly bittersweet lyrics are likely to resonate with many listeners.

Anytime Anywheremilet

milet “Anytime Anywhere” MUSIC VIDEO (TV anime “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” ending theme)
Anytime Anywheremilet

This is milet’s 12th major digital-only single, released in September 2023.

It was chosen as the ending theme for the TV anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.

milet is a singer whose lower to mid register is especially captivating, and the vocal melody here doesn’t span a very wide range, making it a song that many women should be able to sing comfortably.

There’s a section toward the end of the chorus that’s sung in falsetto, so practice making a smooth transition in your vocal production there.

It starts off with high notes, so I think people who like higher voices will enjoy it.

Conversely, if you’re a bit weak with high notes, once you get past the beginning the pitch stays steady, making it an easy song to sing.

Above all, her songs are poignantly touching, so you end up wanting to sing them over and over at karaoke.

It might also be nice to sing this one as a duet with someone rather than alone.

Give it a try!
