Asako Toki is a female singer-songwriter and the daughter of Eiji Toki, a jazz saxophonist known for his refined musical sensibility.

Her work is characterized by original J-pop grounded in jazz, earning high praise from hardcore music aficionados.

Among her songs, the one I especially recommend is Mint Cherry Cake.

This track doesn’t feature jazz elements and instead gives off a slightly city pop vibe.

With a narrow vocal range and no sections that require belting, it’s notable for how easy it is to control pitch.

“Swamp” by Miliyah Kato and LANA.

As a collaboration between a Heisei-era leading female R&B singer and a Reiwa-era leading female R&B singer, it generated buzz among people in their teens through thirties.

Despite that, this piece is surprisingly easy to sing.

Of course, since it’s rooted in R&B, advanced techniques like ad-libs aren’t entirely absent, but the vocal line is extremely simple for an R&B track.

On top of that, the range is relatively narrow, making it an easy song that doesn’t demand a specific vocal register from the singer.

In conclusion

These days, most songs are quite difficult, but among them I’ve picked out some that are easier to sing, like ones without big pitch changes! If you go for more obscure tracks, there are even easier options, but for karaoke you usually want something popular that goes over well, right? I think many of these songs strike a good balance between recognizability and difficulty.

At Rug Music, we introduce many other easy-to-sing songs, too.
