Magic using a smartphone

A heart-pounding magic trick that lets you know someone’s smartphone passcode.
You can use it as a magic performance, but it’s also a handy technique if you secretly want to find out a family member’s or partner’s passcode.
It uses the iPhone’s calculator: first, have the person enter their passcode so the performer can’t see it, then have them add a random four-digit number.
After that, by pressing the minus button and then the equals button, you can immediately see the originally entered number—taking advantage of how the calculator works.
Sing in a dialect

Singing in a dialect is a fun idea that warms everyone’s hearts and brings out smiles! Just adding a slightly different intonation or ending to your words instantly grabs the audience’s interest.
For example, try singing a song you know in the dialect of your hometown, or switch a popular song into a dialect—before you know it, people will be smiling and saying, “That dialect is so cute!” Dialects have a unique sound and warmth rooted in their regions, so simply singing in one can create a cozy atmosphere and make conversation flow more naturally—another reason it really livens things up.
It’s easy to try, so even if you feel a little shy, give it a go and have fun!

parody song

For women who feel a bit embarrassed about doing a party trick, I recommend parody songs.
If you plan ahead and sing with a group, it should help reduce the embarrassment.
In this video, they use the popular song “Otona Blue” to make a funny parody about the differences between introverts and extroverts.
With easy entry points like wearing school-uniform cosplay, you’re less likely to mess up.
In the workplace, it might be good to create a unique parody song about clients or departments—as long as it doesn’t make anyone uncomfortable.
Give it a try!
flash mob dance

Flash mobs that bring unexpected emotion to proposals and parties are a tempting choice for entertainment.
Yamauchi from the comedy duo Kamaitachi pulled off a huge gag by attempting a flash mob all by himself at his partner Hamaie’s wedding.
We wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re very brave… Since it’s mainly dancing, it may require a longer practice period than other performances.
It’s reassuring if you have a few people with dance experience.
For company events, it might be fun to divide into teams—like a junior team and a veteran team—and perform that way!
glass harp

The glass harp—playing by rubbing the rims of glasses filled with different amounts of water—requires a certain amount of practice, and you may need to enter the venue a bit early to prepare.
Still, the beautiful tones that resonate from the glasses will liven up the space when performed.
It’s lovely as a solo, but having several people play and ending with a toast is wonderful, too.
Honnō-ji IncidentEgu-splosion

The Incident at Honnō-ji that we learned about in school: it was the event where the retainer Akechi Mitsuhide rebelled and attacked Oda Nobunaga, who was staying at Honnō-ji in Kyoto.
This is a fun and humorous performance by Egu-Splosion.
If you change up the lyrics and present it as a skit, I think it would really liven things up! This dance seems like it would be especially funny when performed by women.
line dance

Line dance is a style where dancers line up on the floor and everyone performs the same steps.
It’s fun to watch with coordinated costumes and various props.
As a performance for a school or cultural festival, the difficulty isn’t very high and it’s easy to practice, so I recommend it!
