Western songs that women like. World classics and popular hits.

I feel like the Western songs women like tend to be by female artists.

Beautiful voices might be one reason for their popularity, but it could also be that it’s easier to relate to someone of the same gender.

Overseas female artists also show a lot of individuality in their fashion sense, which might be another reason they get so much support!

Stand By MeBen E. King

Stand By MeBen E. King

It’s not only popular among women; it’s such a masterpiece that it ranks among the greatest songs worldwide.

The various scenes in the film of the same title match this song perfectly.

It never seems to age, and I believe it will continue to be sung for years to come.

Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day” was also a big hit in Japan.

It was such a beloved classic that I even remember singing it in English class.

I imagine many people related to its lyrics about a bad day—something everyone goes through—and found comfort in it.

BabyJustin Bieber

Speaking of men who vie for first or second place among women’s idols, that would be Justin.

These days he’s turned kind of wild and has been getting into all sorts of trouble, but when he debuted he was this adorable, universally popular figure.

Western pop songs that women like: World-famous classics and popular tracks (11–20)

Love The Way You AreEminem

Eminem – Love The Way You Lie ft. Rihanna
Love The Way You AreEminem

While it seems that relatively aggressive hip-hop is Eminem’s specialty, this ballad he performed with Rihanna surely deserves to be called a masterpiece.

If you know about both Eminem’s and Rihanna’s past experiences with domestic violence, you can only call it a masterpiece.

Good Morning BaltimoreNikki Blonsky

The film Hairspray was released in 2007.

The song Good Morning Baltimore appears in the movie and is sung by the heroine, Nikki Blonsky.

Since it’s a musical-style number, it doesn’t feature the kind of complex vocal lines you hear in modern pop.

The vocal range is from mid2 B-flat to high C, so most women should be able to sing it in the original key.

However, because it often shifts directly from regular singing to a more speech-like delivery, it can be hard to score high at karaoke unless you have a good grasp of English intonation.

In Japan, when you say a classic by the Black Eyed Peas—the group that had a huge hit with Boom Boom Pow—I think of this song! It’s a wonderful track that I strongly recommend.

Lately, there’s been talk about Fergie leaving, which is unsettling, but personally I hope she stays and that they keep putting out great songs together.

The RoseBette Midler

The Rose is calm and soothing, and it’s a song that really shines when performed, so it should feel great to sing! When you sing it, breath control is key—you’ll want to let it flow as if you’re speaking throughout.

Try not to break it up too much; aim to sing one phrase at a time so it doesn’t sound choppy and keeps a soft, gentle vibe.

Take a deep breath and try connecting the lines smoothly, as if you’re drawing a large circle forward in front of you.

By the way, The Rose is often chosen for karaoke scoring as well.

The melody is easy to remember, so definitely give it a try!
