With the motto “Practice of Love and Service,” they cultivate five strengths—human qualities, professional expertise, ability to act, international competence, and workplace readiness—practicing engaging education under the philosophy of developing the human resources needed by regions and the times. The Faculty of Human and Social Studies includes the Department of Human and Social Studies and the Department of Community Welfare, making it a university specialized in society. The school festival is called the Kaede Festival.
