The Faculty of Human and Social Studies includes the Department of Human and Social Studies and the Department of Community Welfare, making it a university specialized in society. The school festival is called the Kaede Festival.

The Co-Creation Festival, held every fall at Hamamatsu Gakuin University, features a full lineup of stage events, led by artist performances and comedy shows, along with activities by student clubs. Numerous food stalls also set up shop, making it a campus festival that can be enjoyed not only by students but by local community members as well.
