Masterpieces and popular songs by flumpool

Let me introduce a song by flumpool, a four-piece rock band.

You may have had chances to hear their music, as some of their songs have been used as TV drama theme songs.

Speaking of flumpool, back in 2013, guitarist Kazuki Sakai paused his “visual” activities—anything where he could be seen—in order to focus on dieting.

Comedian Yusuke Inoue from the duo NON STYLE stepped in as a support member, which became quite a talking point.

Although Inoue is a comedian, he’s shown playing the guitar impressively in the music video for “Taisetsuna Mono wa Kimi Igai ni Miataranakute” (“I Can’t Find Anything Important Besides You”).

Inoue is known for his narcissistic character, but in this MV he looks undeniably cool.

Meanwhile, the band’s regular guitarist, Sakai, exceeded his weight-loss goals and successfully returned to the band.

Kizuna Kizuflumpool

It is included on their 16th single, “Last Call,” released in 2017.

It was also featured on NHK’s “Minna no Uta” (February–March 2017).

The lyrics are very profound, expressing bonds such as friendship and love.

shooting starflumpool

It was included on their fourth single, “reboot ~A Poem of Not Giving Up~/Nagareboshi,” released in 2010.

This track features the talents of Kenji Tamai and Rui Momota, making it quite a lavish production.

It’s a classic, quintessential flumpool song—beautiful and very cool.

Quvilleflumpool

The lyrics are pretty daring, but apparently it’s a song about a guitar.

It’s by the rock band flumpool, known for hits like “Kimi ni Todoke” and “Subarashiki Uso,” and it was included on their first album, “What’s flumpool!?,” released in 2009.

The bright, guitar-rock sound is fresh and pleasant.

Maybe that contrast is exactly why the lyrical worldview feels so striking.

Well… it’s not meant like that… or is it?

Small Daysflumpool

Small Daysflumpool

A song by the Japanese rock band flumpool, used as the opening theme for the TV anime Kakushigoto.

According to vocalist Ryuta Yamamura, the theme of the song is “the small happiness in everyday life,” and true to his words, it’s a heartwarming, soothing track that makes you feel warm inside.

The melody is easy to hum and gives a friendly impression.

When you sing it at karaoke, try performing it gently and without overexerting yourself.

It will surely feel just right.

With its strange sounds and vocoder-like synthesized vocals, it creates an eerie atmosphere and delivers an intense expression.

Among flumpool’s songs, this one is on the heavier side.

Since it’s the theme song for an anime, the track is tailored to fit that show.

Beginners’ Noteflumpool

Beginners Note is a project flumpool created in collaboration with Hannan University in Osaka Prefecture and FM802.

Based on candid messages from current high school students sent to FM802’s program ROCK KIDS 802, the newly written lyrics for hardworking students remind us of our beginnings.

The intro’s vibrant brass section makes you feel excited as you listen.

The music video was filmed on Hannan University’s campus, vividly portraying students immersed in club activities and their studies.

The PV that begins with him singing as if pleading is very striking, and I felt it was depicted on a grand scale.

The rock-tinged sound reminds you—and never lets you forget—that flumpool is a band.

As expected, they’re impressive.
