When it comes to the girl groups that were big during the middle and high school years of women now in their 40s, TLC is surely one of the first names that comes up.

One of their signature songs is Waterfalls.

It’s a track that I think can bring back memories of that time and get everyone excited.

TLC is an American female R&B trio whose name comes from the initials of its members: T-Boz, Left Eye, and Chilli.

They released numerous hit songs in the 1990s and won Grammy Awards, enjoying high popularity in Japan as well.

In 2002, one member, Left Eye, died in an accident, and the remaining two have continued their activities to this day.

CarnivalThe Cardigans

One of the hit and signature songs by the Swedish female-vocal band The Cardigans is Carnival.

Their emergence helped spark a boom in Nordic music and culture.

This song has often been used in commercials and is very familiar to Japanese listeners.

The American brother-and-sister duo the Carpenters remain hugely popular even today, and you still hear their songs often in commercials and TV dramas.

They have many signature hits, but among them, Top of the World is a particularly well-known, approachable number with a bright, refreshing sound.

Dancing SisterThe Nolans

Dancing SisterThe Nolans

It’s the Nolans’ 1979 hit, originally titled “I’m in the Mood for Dancing” (I’m not sure why the Japanese title ended up the way it did).

It’s a very well-known song; more recently, it was featured in a SoftBank commercial starring Cameron Diaz, which many will remember.

Since it’s a classic, I think everyone around you can get excited together.
