Robert Glasper was exposed to gospel, jazz, and blues from a young age, and as a pianist he has performed with a wide range of artists, from jazz to hip-hop.
The project in question, the Experiment, is where Robert Glasper operates under the concept of a hip-hop-oriented group.
Even though it leans toward hip-hop, Glasper is, after all, a jazz pianist, so the sound is very refined—an understated, mature take on hip-hop.

Tom Jenkinson, aka Squarepusher, is an artist who creates drum and bass tracks influenced by jazz and fusion.
Beyond the high acclaim for his music, his live performances have generated significant buzz.
His shows, fully synchronized with LED visuals, are well worth seeing.

2 Cellos is a cello duo from the Czech Republic.
With their overwhelming musicianship and live performances, they’ve become extremely popular.
The song that first brought them recognition in Japan is Kagemusha, which we’re introducing here.
It was used in a NTT Docomo commercial on TV, and I still remember thinking how incredibly cool it was.
They’re definitely artists I’d love to experience live.

BABYMETAL, the group causing a sensation with their groundbreaking blend of metal and idol pop, is appearing at Fuji Rock.
They’ve even headlined shows in the UK, and their international popularity keeps growing.
Their biggest draw is the striking contrast between their music and their vocals and visuals.
These buzzworthy metal idols are a must-see.
LoserBeck
BECK is an American solo artist who has remained active since his debut in 1993.
This song is included on his first major-label album.
At the time, his innovative style of laying rap over folk and blues tracks became a breakthrough moment for him.
It’s a song that’s often performed live, so it’ll be exciting to see if we get to hear it at this year’s Fuji Rock as well.
