One of the hottest hip-hop units right now, Japanese Magenez.
The duo consists of Son GONG and JAGGLA, and they’re gaining popularity not only in the Kansai region but nationwide.
The group also has a quasi-regular member, Bic.
This track, “Buttobu feat.
Bic” (meaning “Fly Off” or “Get Blown Away”), is a collaboration with Bic, and as the title suggests, it revolves around the theme of “flying.” What’s especially unique is that Bic’s final verse is composed entirely of gags from the comedy duo Ima Ikuyo-Kuruya.

Hannya’s classic track, “Negoto” (“Sleep Talk”).
He’s one of the rappers who represent Japanese hip-hop, able to pull off any style—from serious to playful.
Among his catalog, “Negoto” is a piece that leans especially hard into the playful side.
When this track was released, the show “Freestyle Dungeon” was on air, and part of a verse features DOTAMA showing up in the lyrics.

DanborghiniSUSHIBOYS
SUSHIBOYS are a hip-hop duo representing Saitama Prefecture.
Their laid-back, chill rap stands out, yet despite that style, they’re incredibly skillful—in the best kind of unexpected way.
They’ve been releasing tracks that are both stylish and unique.
Among them, the one I especially recommend is “Danborghini.” It’s a wild concept about picking up a lover in a Lamborghini made of cardboard, but it also offers a sharp, subtle satire of money worship and materialism.

Namichie is a rapper with an outstanding academic background—she graduated at the top of her class from Tokyo University of the Arts.
True to what that pedigree suggests, her skills as a rapper are high, placing her among the most technically skilled female MCs.
On top of that, she has a rich sensibility and tends to use fundamentally unique expressions.
Her track “Omae o Nogasu” (Letting You Go) especially highlights those qualities.
The surreal lyrics—about releasing a pet turtle—strike a memorable balance between something that feels realistic and yet somehow unreal.
My name is.K dabushain
Rapper K Dub Shine, who helped lay the foundations of the hip-hop scene as a member of King Giddra.
Lately he’s been active on YouTube as well.
Having attended Temple University, he’s known as a highly intelligent rapper.
Contrary to that image, though, he also delivers some funny rap.
One example is “Ore no Na wa.” As you’ve probably guessed, it’s an homage to the film “Your Name.” The lyrics are pretty surreal, so be sure to check it out.

Suiki to Sanada 2.0 is a unit formed by GagK Ranger members Pochomkin and Sanada.
To be frank, it’s a unit that’s all about goofing around, and every track is packed with exceptional uniqueness.
Among them, the work I particularly recommend is Konna Ningen ni Naritai.
It’s memorable for its lyrics sampling Kenji Miyazawa’s Ame ni mo Makezu, but the kind of person the protagonist aspires to be is hilariously off the mark.

Amateras is a rapper who’s gained popularity in both recorded releases and MC battles for his celebrity-inspired, eccentric musical style and persona.
He’s what you might call a novelty-type rapper, but his lyricism is exceptionally sharp, and every track takes a unique angle.
One of his works themed around the coronavirus is “May the COVID_19 be with you.” Its distinctive lyrics personify COVID in a memorable way, so be sure to check it out.
