Dizzy Sunfist (Dijī Sanfisuto)
They’re a band that’s rapidly rising to the top right now.
In 2017, they were also enlivening the Ushiwaka Stage at Kyoto Daisakusen.
The coolest thing about Dizzy Sunfist is their melodic hardcore sung by a girl who can hold her own against the guys!
Lyrics that are too straightforward can be uplifting.
They say they grew up listening to Hi-Standard, and they seem poised to become a female version of Hi-Standard—an act you absolutely can’t take your eyes off.
If you like melodic punk, this is a band you definitely need to check out!
yonige (night escape; running away at night)
A song by yonige that sings about a girl's budding love and the feelings of heartbreak.
Its unpretentious nature and unique expressions make it very popular among people of the same gender.
Many fans say, “I’m not into girl bands, but I like yonige!”
A distinctive voice that you could listen to forever.
We’ve started seeing it more often at festivals lately.
Anyway, since the lyrics are based directly on vocalist-guitarist Ushimaru’s real-life experiences, there are so many feelings I can relate to!
I really want a lot more people to listen to songs with lyrics like that and catchy melodies.
Hump Back (Hampubakku)
A three-piece girls' rock band formed from a high school light music club.
We had periods of inactivity due to member changes, but after some reshuffling, we arrived at our current lineup.
Anyway, the high-quality and very simple song is classic guitar rock.
The kind of vocal voice that you won’t forget once you’ve heard it is also very appealing.
Isn't this the kind of band you'd call emo?
The recordings are of course cool, but Hump Back’s live shows are insanely cool.
I’d love for you to listen to Hump Back’s songs at least once—they really hit you in the feels.
Yabai T-Shirts Yasan
A male-female twin-vocal band.
Commonly known as “Yaba-T.”
A song that’s too catchy is hard to forget after just one listen!
Although you might think it’s aimed at young people—since copy bands in light music clubs often cover it—it’s also sung by office workers at karaoke and izakayas, enjoying broad popularity across a wide range of people.
Above all, YabaT’s songs are mostly really fun!
They're a highly recommended artist when you want to get hyped!

Spectacular Whale
A stylish and cool breathtaking whale.
They’re far too unique to be called just a girls’ band.
The phrase “-like” (XX-like) doesn’t apply.
I can’t help but feel a sense of style in the masculine lyrics and sound.
I hope you’ll have the chance to witness the breathtaking world of whales at least once.
DIALUCK (Daiaraku)
I'm pretty sure the first time I heard it was at Village Vanguard.
The band that made me go, 'Whoa, there’s a pretty cool band!' was DIALUCK.
The laid-back vibe is addictive.
Rather than a straightforward rock band, it also conveys elements of R&B and hip-hop.
DIALUCK gives the impression of being a fresh kind of girls’ band.
boundary

A classic girls' rock band.
Straight, powerful, and cool.
They have been active in numerous auditions, festivals, and circuit live events.
The very steady singing voice is comforting to listen to.
Boundary’s song is the very definition of a classic girls’ band tune—definitely a must-check!
ЯeaL (Real)
A voice that evokes anime songs and Vocaloid.
A band that has many fans from outside the rock scene.
Given their distinctive band name styling, you might expect them to be a nightmare for social media sharing, but they’re actually garnering considerable attention in some circles.
A highly skilled band that performed at SUMMER SONIC 2015 even before their major-label debut.
This is one of the bands I’d like anime song fans to listen to.
SEKIRARA (Sekirara)
A powerful girls’ band.
What’s surprising is that the new member, bassist Ayakōji Himari, joined as a complete beginner.
However, it is true that they are a band with a pretty cool sound and ephemeral songs.
In 2016, they also performed at COUNTDOWN JAPAN and on the MOON STAGE.
I’m sure they’re a band that will blast ahead, so I can’t take my eyes off their activities!
the tiny
A four-piece band with a female vocalist and mixed male-female members.
Songs by the tiny where the lyrics, just as they are, are sung in a clear, translucent voice.
The vocals are just so, so cute.
The lyrics give the impression of being truly just as they are—straight from the heart.
For those who don’t know them, this is a band you should listen to at least once!

Lastly
I really love girl bands, and once I get hooked, I’m completely hooked. Osaka happens to be home to a lot of bands with female vocalists that I absolutely adore.
I absolutely love yonige’s songs, which I included in this top 10, and thanks to them I’ve discovered a lot of female-fronted bands.
I believe there are still plenty of wonderful bands out there, so I want to dig deeper to discover new ones.
