Beyond the windarashi

No matter what walls stand in your way, this is a coming-of-age song that makes you want to keep going.
It’s a 2008 release by the idol group Arashi and was used as the theme song for the Beijing Olympics program “GO! Beijing.” Its lyrics tell you that you haven’t been wrong up to now, and that you can keep moving toward your dreams from here on out.
Rather than feeling like it pushes you from behind, many might feel it holds them up and supports them.
It’s a song I’d especially love for those working hard at club activities or studying for exams to hear!
orchestraBiSH

This is a signature song by BiSH, a six-member Japanese girl group.
It’s also well-known for AiNA THE END—the member with the husky voice—appearing with a piano arrangement on THE FIRST TAKE, a YouTube channel built around the concept of “facing the music in a single take.” Backed by violin tones, the track features intense drum and guitar performances and showcases the members’ diverse vocal timbres.
Its originality sparked buzz online, and new fans who discovered BiSH through this song came to be called “Orchestra newcomers.”
You are my friend.Hirai Ken

“Kimi wa Tomodachi,” the 21st single by Ken Hirai released in 2004, is a song written around the theme of friendship and was used as the theme song for the drama “Wonderful Life.” It conveys warmth of heart and the importance of friendship, delivered through Hirai’s vocals that are both wild and gentle.

Song of a Friendyuzu

Yuzu’s “Tomodachi no Uta” is a wonderful song that was also used in a Glico Pocky commercial.
The lyrics reminisce about friends we can no longer see often, filled with nostalgia and the thought, “I want to see you.” Honest and straightforward, it speaks directly to our hearts.
KanadeSukima Suichi

One of Sukima Switch’s signature songs, Kanade, also drew attention as the theme song for the anime One Week Friends.
From the lyrics, you can sense a moving story of friendship—deeply cherished yet destined to part someday—making it a profoundly touching track.
Graduationsaitou yuki

An ultimate idol song and a youth anthem created by the golden duo—lyrics by Takashi Matsumoto and music by Kyohei Tsutsumi.
Around the time this single was released, Momoko Kikuchi’s “Sotsugyō” and Yutaka Ozaki’s “Sotsugyō” were also hits, sparking a kind of “graduation” boom.
Of course, Atsumi Kurazawa’s “Sotsugyō” as well.
The lyric, “I want to be a cute girl who sheds tears at the graduation ceremony, but I’ll save my tears for a more important moment…” still makes your heart flutter even now.
All the boys became Yuki Saito fans, didn’t they? There was something captivating about Saito’s singing too—still fresh and unaccustomed to the entertainment world.
Ode to YouthMomoiro Kurōbā Zetto

It’s Momoiro Clover Z’s 14th single, and it was chosen as the theme song for the coming-of-age film “The Curtain Rises.” The lyrics were written by Nagae Kuwabara, who has also penned theme songs for NHK Educational TV and set pieces for the National Choral Contest, while the composition was by Shihori, a female singer-songwriter.
The producer is Keiichi Tomita, who also worked on SMAP’s “Ai no Hi ~ Kimi to Merry Christmas.” On this track, Tomita performed almost all of the instruments.
It’s a youth-boosting anthem featuring the members’ beautiful harmonies.
