Ode to YouthMomoiro Kurōbā Zetto

It’s Momoiro Clover Z’s 14th single, and it was chosen as the theme song for the coming-of-age film “The Curtain Rises.” The lyrics were written by Nagae Kuwabara, who has also penned theme songs for NHK Educational TV and set pieces for the National Choral Contest, while the composition was by Shihori, a female singer-songwriter.
The producer is Keiichi Tomita, who also worked on SMAP’s “Ai no Hi ~ Kimi to Merry Christmas.” On this track, Tomita performed almost all of the instruments.
It’s a youth-boosting anthem featuring the members’ beautiful harmonies.
Sky-colored spray of waterBoku ga mitakatta aozora

It’s a refreshing number that feels like a distillation of youthful sparkle—blazing sunshine and streaming sweat.
Written specifically as the theme song for the theatrical anime “Ganbatte Ikimasshoi,” this piece delivers the passion for rowing atop a driving, exhilarating melody.
It’s also included on the single “Suki Sugite Up and down,” released in November 2024, and when it was first performed at the group’s first-anniversary event in August of the same year, the entire venue came together in excitement.
You can almost see the earnest figures rowing their oars toward their dreams with their teammates, and listening to it will naturally set your heart ablaze.
Give it a listen when you’re about to take on a challenge or need that last push forward.
It will leave you feeling cleansed.

The song “Tomo yo” sung by the duo Hilcrhyme is written from the perspective of someone invited to a wedding as the representative friend, at the end of a long friendship.
It’s a masterpiece that makes you feel, “If a day like this ever comes, I’ll be so happy.” The gentle, seeping emotion lingers like an afterglow.
The dream never ends.Takeuchi Chika

A youth-boosting anthem by Chika Takeuchi that shot into the spotlight after being featured in a commercial.
With a powerful chorus worthy of being called a classic and relentlessly positive lyrics, it’s a song that feels like a push on the back, telling you there’s no time to stay down.
Goodbye, my beloved.Hana*Hana

Hana*Hana’s “Sayonara Daisukina Hito” was used as the theme song for the 2000 drama Oyaji.
It’s also loved as a friendship-themed graduation song, but it’s said that it was actually written while thinking about the songwriter’s late grandfather.
No wonder it’s so moving.
Yukitokiyanaginagi

Singer-songwriter Nagi Yanagi from Osaka Prefecture.
Her song “Yukitoki” is a single released in 2013 and the opening theme for the anime My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected.
The lyrics convey the feelings of the heroine, Yukino Yukinoshita, making it a song that really resonates with those who’ve seen the show.
They depict a shift from always trying to handle everything alone to wishing for someone to stay by your side—something that people unfamiliar with the anime can surely relate to as well.
If you feel like you can’t open up to friends or that there’s no one you can trust, try listening to this song and taking a deep breath.
