MusicSakanakushon
Rather than a wholesome vibe, this track has the slightly shady yet fun feel of a music video—an uptempo song you can groove to just right.
Released as a 500-yen one-coin single, it’s even called “Sakanaction’s perfected form” by fans—a highly accomplished, super groovy tune.
New Treasure IslandSakanakushon

Shin Takarajima is one of Sakanaction’s most popular songs.
Released in 2015 as the band’s 11th single, it also drew attention for its music video, whose vibe feels wildly different from the song itself.
Even people who don’t know much about Sakanaction have probably heard this track.
The tune has a steady, understated feel, yet it’s incredibly catchy—both to sing and to listen to—and it just feels good.
It’s the kind of number that makes your body start moving before you know it.
trutharashi

Arashi is a five-member idol group so beloved nationwide that calls for their reunion continue to this day.
Their 23rd single, “truth,” released as a double A-side with “Kaze no Mukō e,” was used as the theme song for the TV drama Maou.
Its classical ensemble, mysterious lyrics, and energizing beat make it a perfect pick for stress-relief karaoke.
It’s a recommended track for when you want to get pumped up, featuring a beautiful blend of dark arrangement and catchy melody.
Stay GoldHi-STANDARD

It’s a song that’s still highly popular as an anthem of youth.
Even as adults, some people probably listen to it when they want to lift their spirits.
Combined with the musicality of the melodic hardcore genre, its fleeting brilliance is captivating, so it’s no surprise its popularity hasn’t faded.
Runnerbakufū suranpu

That intro alone is enough to raise your body temperature—surely everyone’s heard it at least once.
A signature song by Bakufu Slump, this rock number captivates with its exhilarating drive and fiery message.
While it paints scenes from a track-and-field club, the behind-the-scenes story that it actually sings about parting ways with a band member is especially moving.
Released as a single in October 1988, it was also included on the album “HIGH LANDER.” At the time, it became widely known through its use as background music on the TV show “Genius! Takeshi’s Genki ga Deru TV!!” When you need a push on your back, why not belt it out at karaoke?

FAKE LANDFAKE TYPE.

A super distinctive rap that depicts a theme park where madness and pleasure swirl! If you can pull it off at karaoke, you’ll feel like the true ruler of entertainment.
It’s a 2021 release.
“FAKE LAND” is a song one of my students used to sing, and I was impressed, thinking, “Wow, their diction is so quick!” It really prioritizes rhythm and accent! It’s not pure rap—there are song-like parts too—so even if you’re not confident with rap, I think you can enjoy singing it all the way through.
Of course, I memorized it while teaching lessons as well, so listening repeatedly and singing along is key! If the fast lyrics make it hard to catch the words, I recommend slowing the playback speed on YouTube.
Nothing but idiots.Jin Dogg

Jin Dogg is a rapper from Osaka who’s fluent in Japanese, Korean, and English.
It’s a track with a languid trap sound and cathartic, scattershot shouts that feel great.
The energy of Osaka overflows to the point of being overwhelming.
