Make It with Everyday Materials! Halloween Mask Ideas & DIY Tips (31–40)
mask

In Japan, Halloween events are sometimes associated primarily with costume parties, and dressing up is fun for children too.
Full-scale costumes can be a lot of work, but simple eye masks made from paper plates are easy to make and highly recommended.
Since you’ll need to cut them into a mask shape with scissors, it’s best for an adult to do the cutting if younger children are participating.
Using freely painted masks to join a party or show them off with friends is sure to get everyone excited—it’s a Halloween craft that really captures the spirit of the season.
Glowing mask

This glowing skull mask is perfect for nighttime costume parties.
Made from stretchy fleece, it fits snugly to your face.
Insert two AAA batteries inside the mask and the skull lights up in response to sounds and voices.
The way it flickers on and off in time with eerie fluorescent tones is pure horror.
You’re sure to stand out even at a Halloween party overflowing with flashy costumes! Why not incorporate glowing elements into your outfit and coordinate your look from head to toe?
Day of the Dead mask

During the Mexican festival called the Day of the Dead, many people wear colorful skull makeup.
Made popular by the Disney movie ‘Coco,’ why not recreate this Day of the Dead skull look with a mask? Even if makeup feels difficult, a mask is easy and lets you design freely, so it’s highly recommended.
Once you’ve cut paper into a skull shape, draw whatever you like in the open areas around the eyes and mouth.
Including floral designs is said to be the most popular style locally.
The most important thing is to make it bold and vibrant! Decorate it a lot and grab everyone’s attention.
Akaza

Akaza, the Upper Rank demon who appeared in the blockbuster film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train.
Some of you might be planning to go all-in with a full-body costume for Halloween, but many probably feel the face markings are tough to pull off.
In that case, make a mask and become Akaza from head to toe in no time! You can draw Akaza’s face on paper and mount it on thick cardstock, or print a face illustration and glue it to cardstock—there are lots of ways to make it.
You could also add just the hair by attaching reddish yarn.
It’s recommended both as part of a full costume and as a simple mini disguise with just the mask.
cat

If cat ears or a full cat cosplay feels a bit embarrassing but you still want a cat-like costume, why not make a cat mask? You can craft a full cat face out of paper or fabric, or just make the part from the nose to the ears—either is fine! For a Halloween vibe, we recommend using darker or bold colors like black or purple.
Make sure to cut holes for the eyes so you can see ahead.
Once you’ve got the shape, add stickers, attach ribbons, and decorate it cutely—you’ll end up with an adorable, one-of-a-kind mask!

Stone Mask

The Stone Mask is, quite literally, a mask made of stone that appears in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
Characterized by its pointed teeth and sharp gaze, the mask becomes even more striking when a blood-red stone is attached to the forehead, instantly turning it into a perfect Halloween accessory.
Incidentally, this blood-like red color alludes to the “blood ritual” depicted in the story—an element tied to the idea of evolving humans—so it’s sure to be a hit, especially if you’re with fellow JoJo fans!
Sabito and Makomo

From the wildly popular anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Tanjiro Kamado meets Sabito and Makomo during his training.
Let’s try making the fox masks they wear! You can simply cut out white construction paper according to a template, but if you want it to look more authentic, the key is to add some cutting techniques.
Make slits at the forehead and around the mouth, then pull each slit together and glue it in place to create a three-dimensional mask.
After that, draw each mask’s face and cut out the eyes and mouth, and you’re done.
Using a red cord-like string for the ties will make it look even more authentic!
