First, fold a sheet of white origami paper into a triangle three times.

Draw a jack-o’-lantern on the folded side, cut it out, and unfold it.

You’ll have a chain of pumpkins in a circle.

Next, glue rectangular pieces of origami paper onto a paper plate.

Mix in patterned origami for a lively finish.

Paste several different kinds around the plate.

Then, cut a circle of origami to fit the center of the plate and write a Halloween-style message on it.

Glue it on together with the jack-o’-lantern paper cutouts, and you’re done! It also looks cute if you hang lots of them in your room with strings.

Here’s an introduction to making a mini lantern using an R-1 plastic bottle.

It looks just like a real lantern, but it’s easy to make, so give it a try! First, cut the bottle into three equal parts; you won’t use the middle section, so recycle it.

Wrap black masking tape around the cut edges of the top and bottom sections, and cover the entire bottom section with the tape to make it black.

Finally, cover the cap with tape, make a hole in it, and attach a chenille stem (pipe cleaner) as a handle to finish.

It looks cute if you put ghost stickers or other decals on the clear part.

Place a candle-style LED light inside and enjoy.

Here’s a cute Halloween decoration using cardstock and embroidery thread.

First, cut the cardstock into a circle, then snip around the edge with scissors to make a zigzag.

Tape the end of the embroidery thread to the back, and wrap the thread around the cardstock so it fits into the zigzags.

Once the thread is wrapped all around in a radial pattern, cut the thread and tape it down.

Finally, stick on facial parts to make a jack-o’-lantern, a ghost, a cat, etc.

Don’t forget the cat’s ears and whiskers.

It looks very cute when displayed on the wall.

Next, simply tie the cut tulle strips onto a black elastic band that will be the waistband.

Round off the ends of the folded bundle with scissors, then tie a black wire around the center.

Clamp the tissue paper with the wire, and twist the remaining ends together.

Gently fluff the tissue paper into a round shape, insert it into a paper cup filled with air-dry clay, and you’re done.

Try different tissue paper colors—from classic orange to a chic deep green—for your own unique touch.

Thread about 60–80 rubber bands onto a tube, then remove them and tie the center with another rubber band.

Cut the looped sections on both sides with scissors, then trim the ends to shape it.

Pass a twist tie through the central rubber band and attach it to the base.

This will become the ghost, so make lots of them in various colors until the base is completely covered.

Attach googly-eye parts to the rubber bands, thread a hanging string through, and it’s done.

Mixing rubber band colors adds a nice accent.
