A full-fledged thumb-detachment magic trick

The classic magic trick where you cover one finger with the other hand and say, “My thumb came off!!” is something everyone’s seen and can easily see through.
However, in this version, by deliberately marking the thumb with a pen beforehand, it looks much more like it actually came off! Adding this small extra step to a classic trick makes it look a lot better, so I highly recommend it!
The classic removable thumb

It’s the classic thumb-detaching hand magic trick! One thumb is bent inward, and the thumb of the moving hand is simply poked out from behind the index finger—but with good presentation, it really looks like the thumb has naturally come off.
Everyone knows how it’s done, but if you pull it off well, you’re sure to amaze everyone.
How far can you twist your wrist?

When your friends beg, “Do something!” during break time, how about a wrist-only magic trick? You place your palm on the desk and rotate your wrist—normally, you can only turn it partway.
But in this trick, you spin your wrist all the way around! The secret lies in how you position your hand at the start.
With a little practice, anyone can do this simple trick, so be sure to show it off.
For a finishing touch that sounds like a bone snapping, hide a plastic paper cup under your armpit and squeeze it to make the sound.
Shrinking little finger

If you grip the tip of your pinky tightly and press it in, your pinky will appear to shrink! The secret is simple: you’re just bending the pinky at the second knuckle to make it look shorter.
However, to make it look natural and fold the pinky smoothly, you’ll need practice beforehand.
Also, forcing your finger to bend can strain the joint or cause injury, so don’t push it too far.
little finger that pulls away

This is the “detachable pinky” magic trick.
Hide the pinky of your left hand behind your hand so it can’t be seen, and pinch the middle finger of your right hand between your right thumb and index finger.
Move that pinched middle finger so it looks like the cleverly hidden left pinky is being attached and detached! It’s a quick visual gag, so set it up swiftly and give everyone a surprise.
The key is to keep the other fingers closed so the hidden left pinky doesn’t show.
You’re not actually cutting anything off, but with practice it really looks like your pinky is coming off—so practice! It needs no props and is perfect when you want to perform a trick on the spot.
Guess someone’s birthday by calculation

It’s a number-based magic trick that only involves calculation, so you don’t need any props.
The trick is to guess someone’s birthday.
The formula is fixed: multiply the person’s birth month by 4, add 9, then multiply that result by 25, and add the day of the month they were born.
Subtract 225 from that, and you’ll get a three- or four-digit number.
The last two digits are the birth day, and the remaining leading digit(s) are the birth month.
For example, someone born on January 1 would get 101, and someone born on October 1 would get 1001.
It’s a quick and easy magic trick you can use when you want to figure out someone’s birthday.

Do you open it with your hands together?

It’s a strange move where, even though you’re supposed to be doing the same motion together, only your hands end up tangled.
You firmly clench your fists with your palms facing outward and try to flip them back—except they don’t return.
In reality, you’re just pretending to teach the other person, and when you pair up next, you rotate your palms in the same direction.
Since it happens in an instant and most people don’t watch closely, it’s hard to notice.
