Lesson tote bag with quilted lining
Here’s a handmade idea for a lesson bag using quilted fabric for the lining.
Quilted fabric adds thickness and, being soft, is safe and comfortable for children.
First, place the bottom panel in the center and sew a piece of exterior fabric to each side.
After attaching the handles to the exterior, layer the lining and exterior right sides together and sew along both sides.
Fold the fabric in half so the seams meet in the center, trim all four corners into squares, and sew to create boxed corners (gussets).
Sew the top and bottom, leaving an opening for turning, then turn the bag right side out.
Topstitch around the opening and close the turning gap to finish.
Try using fabrics with vehicles, dinosaurs, and other patterns boys often like.
