Tomte Christmas ornament(s)

Here’s how to make a Christmas ornament: a tomte.
A tomte is a Nordic elf said to bring prosperity.
You will need paper, cardstock, yarn, pom-poms (decoration balls), cotton, double-sided tape, and a pen.
First, make a hat template and trace it onto the cardstock, then cut along the outline.
After applying double-sided tape to the cardstock, leave a 2 cm gap at the bottom and wrap yarn around and around.
Make a loop at the tip of the triangle so it can be hung.
This creates the red hat portion.
Next, attach a pom-pom as the nose, then stick cotton around it to look like a beard.
By changing the colors of the yarn and pom-poms, you can make colorful ornaments.
Give it a try!
Christmas board

Christmas boards are perfect for decorating your room or entryway.
You attach various materials to a wooden board to create a Christmas-themed piece.
If you want to make a Christmas tree, we recommend using decoration parts like wood sheets, green moss, small ornaments, and beads.
You can also use similar materials to create a wreath on the wooden board.
Adding message stickers such as “Merry Christmas” makes it stylish, too! It’s ideal for times when you can’t display large decorations like a full tree but still want to bring in a festive Christmas feel.
A tinsel Christmas wreath

Would you like to make a sparkly tinsel Christmas wreath that you can create just by wrapping tinsel? Wrap craft tinsel (the kind you can buy at 100-yen shops) around a straw.
After wrapping, leave it on the straw and stretch it out with gaps.
Make three of these, then thread the wrapped tinsel onto a straight piece of tinsel and form a ring.
Once that’s done, make a bow with tinsel in a different color and wrap it onto the wreath.
Finish by sticking rhinestone stickers onto the ring.
It’s super cute, so try making it in various colors!
lampshade

Perfect for Christmas! Here’s a handmade lampshade idea.
Use a balloon as the base and glue on your favorite materials.
Using towels or tissue paper will give it a warm, cozy feel.
Once it’s dry, pop the balloon and remove it, then attach an LED and you’re done! You can shape it however you like—round, pumpkin-shaped, and more.
The shadows cast by the light will create a special atmosphere.
Making it with your child could turn into a fun, lasting memory.
ball ornament

Display these at a Christmas party and you’re sure to hear, “How cute!” The item we’re introducing here is a felt ball ornament.
Its round, plump shape is adorable, and the cozy warmth of felt makes it a perfect decoration for Christmas.
The pattern created by the felt might look challenging to handcraft at first glance.
However, all you’re really doing is folding small pieces of felt and attaching them with a hot glue gun.
You’ll be amazed at how easily you can make a professional-looking ornament—give it a try!
Christmas swag

This is a Christmas swag made using only items from the 100-yen shop! A swag is a German term for a wall decoration.
If you want something other than the classic wreath, this is recommended.
Use fir branches as the base and arrange holly, pine cones, and other floral materials in a balanced way to create a Christmas feel.
You can go heavy on greenery for a natural look, or use more florals for an elegant atmosphere—the arrangement is entirely up to you! Adding accent colors like gold, silver, or red will also make it look beautiful.
Crocodile-stitch wreath

Let us introduce a Christmas wreath made with craft bands.
It’s easy to follow even if it’s your first time trying the scale weave, and once you try it yourself, you’ll pick up the technique and start having fun! This piece can be used not only as a wreath but also as a trivet.
All you need to prepare are craft bands and glue.
A handmade craft-band wreath with a three-dimensional, warm feel is sure to stand out! Definitely try making it together with your family or as a group activity.
