Aim for a high score! A collection of easy-to-sing karaoke songs recommended for high school students

When karaoke has a scoring feature, you can’t help wanting to go for a high score, right?

I’m sure many of you enjoy competing for high scores with your friends.

This time, for high school students who love karaoke, I’ve selected some songs that seem relatively easy to sing and good for aiming at high scores.

The key to getting a high score at karaoke is, above all else, to memorize the melody and rhythm (note values) accurately!

If you want to aim for a high score, listen closely to the guide melody, memorize it, and then try singing.

If you’re thinking, “There’s no way I can memorize all that,” one trick might be to turn up the guide melody volume so it’s easier to hear while you sing.

Some of the individual song introduction articles also include advice specifically for getting high scores, so be sure to use this article as a reference and get a leg up on your friends!

Aim for High Scores! Karaoke Songs That Are Easy for High Schoolers to Sing (91–100)

On nights when cherry blossoms fallaimyon

Aimyon – On the Night the Cherry Blossoms Fall [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]
On nights when cherry blossoms fallaimyon

While inheriting the sound that could be called the golden age of Heisei-era J-POP, Aimyon continues to release songs with a timeless, universal appeal.

“Sakura ga Furu Yoru wa” was released in 2021 as the theme song for “Koi to Ookami ni wa Damasarenai,” and it’s a masterpiece brimming with Aimyon’s signature style—comforting yet somehow bittersweet, with melodies and lyrics that resonate deeply.

Overall, although the pitch sits relatively high, the range is narrow and the melodic leaps are modest, so those with lower voices should be able to sing it well by adjusting the key.

For the chorus’s falsetto lines, try to project from your diaphragm to avoid your voice breaking.

Noa (Noshii) – Omnidirectional Beautiful Girl [Official Music Video]

Many people would first name Noshi as a breakout, up-and-coming singer-songwriter of 2024.

Born in 2000, she’s a multi-talented artist who not only writes and composes her own songs but also handles artwork herself, making her hugely popular with Gen Z.

The song that propelled her to fame is Zengōkō Bishōjo (“All-Directional Beautiful Girl”), a 2024 hit that exploded primarily on TikTok and became one of the year’s defining tracks.

It’s not the kind of song that gets flashy and hyped up, but its unforgettable melody, along with her voice that blends a languid mood, sultriness, and cuteness, is truly innate.

When singing it at karaoke, avoid sounding too flat; pay attention to the slightly rapid phrases and aim for smooth delivery—you might even rack up a high score!

aimlesslyAimer

Aimer “Aimlessly” MUSIC VIDEO (Anime “Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage” Ending Theme)
aimlesslyAimer

This is Aimer’s 22nd single, released in May 2023.

It was chosen as the ending theme for the anime Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage.

While the song is a relatively simple ballad, Aimer uses a remarkably diverse range of vocal expressions to beautifully convey the song’s world.

It might be a bit challenging if you’re aiming for a high score at karaoke, but the melody itself is very straightforward and beautiful.

Be sure to study in advance—where the rests fall in each phrase, where to sustain notes, and where to cut them off—then give it a try.

spiralLONGMAN

LONGMAN 'Spiral' Music Video (TV Anime 'Mushoku Tensei II: Jobless Reincarnation' Opening Theme)
spiralLONGMAN

The fourth digital-only single by the Japanese rock band LONGMAN, released in July 2023.

It’s used as the opening theme for the anime Mushoku Tensei II: Jobless Reincarnation—I Will Seriously Try If I Go to Another World.

It’s a very refreshing pop-rock song ranging from mid- to up-tempo, and I feel the tempo makes it very easy to sing.

It’s a male-female twin-vocal track, and both parts are crafted to be very singable and approachable, so by all means try it as a male-female duo and aim for a high score!

Agari Sagari feat. R-Shitei & CHEHONSPICY CHOCOLATE

SPICY CHOCOLATE – Agari Sagari feat. R-Shitei & CHEHON [Music Video]

Reggae DJ CHEHON.

Lately he’s been actively appearing in MC battles, so his recorded tracks are getting attention again.

One of the works featuring the resurgent CHEHON together with rapper R-Shitei is “Agari Sagari feat.

R-Shitei & CHEHON.” CHEHON’s verse is extremely cool, yet also catchy, so even people who aren’t good at singing should be able to handle it without any problem.

R-Shitei’s verse is also far less difficult compared to tracks like “Nariwai,” so if you’re into Black culture, definitely give it a try.

Sun of Lovekururi

A single by Quruli released in March 2023.

It was pre-released in February and was also chosen as the theme song for the Netflix film “Call Me Chihiro.” It’s a simple, medium-tempo pop-rock song that’s very easy to groove to.

The vocal melody line is also very straightforward and easy to hum, so it should be relatively manageable for anyone to shoot for a perfect 100 at karaoke.

Listen closely to the original, study where to sustain notes, where to cut them off, and how to do so, and give that perfect score a try.

The First NightYorushika

Released in April 2023, this is a single by Yorushika, a Japanese male–female rock duo consisting of composer n-buna and vocalist suis.

It’s a very heartrending and beautiful ballad built around a piano-centered backing track.

Despite being an excellent piece, the vocal melody doesn’t span a particularly wide range, and the melody itself is relatively simple, making it one of the best choices if you want to aim for a high score at karaoke.

Since the song is sung gently overall, almost like a whisper, be careful not to let your singing get rough—cherish each word of the lyrics and sing with care.
