[K-On!] After-School Tea Time Songs (1–10)
Rice is a side dish.Hōkago Tī Taimu

The comical lyrics that perfectly capture Yui’s character are amusing, and the song proudly sings of Yui’s love for rice.
It was featured as an insert song in episode 20 of K-On!! and released as After-School Tea Time’s ninth double A-side single.
Although it’s what you’d call a comic song, the moving bass line and the keyboard carrying the main riff make it a cool-sounding track.
Don’t say “lazy”Hōkago Tī Taimu

When it comes to Ho-kago Tea Time, many people probably think of this song.
“Don’t say ‘lazy’” is so famous it’s considered synonymous with K-On!.
Thanks to K-On!’s influence, many people started playing instruments, and plenty chose this song as their first challenge.
This track, packed with Ho-kago Tea Time’s coolness, will definitely get you pumped!
I Touched an Angel!Hōkago Tī Taimu

A song written for Azusa Nakano, who would be left behind when the other four graduate ahead of her.
Yui, Mio, Ritsu, and Tsumugi share the vocals.
In this medium-tempo ballad, the four seniors gently sing to their precious junior Azusa—likening her to an angel—promising that their bonds and friendship won’t change even after graduation.
It was performed in Episode 24 of K-On!!’s second season.
Countless viewers cried along with Azusa, making it a truly iconic song.

Unmei♪wa♪Endless!Hōkago Tī Taimu

A high-energy track that feels quintessentially K-On!, backed by advanced technique.
It’s an insert song from the feature film “K-On! The Movie” and the tenth single released under the name Houkago Tea Time.
It’s a lively, catchy number that’s very much in line with Yui, who handles the main vocals—but if you actually tried to cover it with a band, it would probably be quite a challenge.
the most fullHōkago Tī Taimu

It’s the opening theme for the feature film K-On! The Movie, with Yui Hirasawa as the lead vocalist.
It’s included as the B-side on After-School Tea Time’s tenth single, “Unmei♪wa♪Endless!” It features a luxurious ensemble with strings as well as woodwinds and brass, and—perhaps to match the setting of a graduation trip to the UK—you can hear Beatles-like arrangements throughout.
Good morning, see you tomorrow.Hōkago Tī Taimu

A hidden gem that wasn’t used in the film, this is the coupling track to the ending theme “Singing!” from the K-ON! movie.
All five members of After-School Tea Time share lead vocals, and its shuffle rhythm and Brit-pop-like arrangement—akin to the movie’s opening theme “Ichiban Ippai”—feel wonderfully pleasant.
The lyrics evoke the gentle close of a leisurely day and a hope that things will continue on, leaving you with a touch of bittersweet emotion.
Pure Pure HeartHōkago Tī Taimu

It’s a classic piece of girls’ pop whose sparkling keyboard intro makes your heart skip a beat.
As Hokago Tea Time, it’s their sixth single overall, and it’s performed in Episode 7 of K-On!! in the show.
The main vocal is by Mio Akiyama, and the lyrics wonderfully capture her character—cool and beautiful, yet with an adorable side.
