Jazz Festivals in Eastern Japan [2026] JAZZ Street List

It began in 1995 after the Moonlight Jazz Orchestra, an amateur big band that started full-scale activities in Nonoichi City in 1980, performed at a jazz festival in the United States. The event title “BIG APPLE” is a nickname for New York and was chosen to signify a place where the world’s top musicians gather.

This is a city jazz event that makes the most of Yokosuka’s character as an international city—home to a naval port, surrounded by the sea, and with many foreign residents. With the aim of bringing everyone together in a friendly atmosphere while listening to music, it’s a music festival where participants can get excited as one through music, the common language that transcends borders.
